Prince Harry and Meghan Markle thread

I kindly request that all members participating in the MM and Harry thread dial back the vile rhetoric.

I am not opposed to discussing public personas on TPF, including the constant torrent of news surrounding the couple from this thread. But I find it troubling when their looks are being nitpicked apart to a degree that is just not appropriate.

This thread has drawn criticism over the years, and I discussed it at great length with Megs and the mods. I am not looking to close it down, but the vitriol needs to be dialed back.

My personal feelings about hate threads aside, this ultra-negative vibe is something better suited for other forums, Reddit, or elsewhere. I am holding our community to higher standards.

Thanks for reading.

I was watching an old episode of Curb Your Enthusiasm. Larry meets a couple - black man/white woman, who is pregnant, due any minute. Larry asks the couple what shade they would like their baby to be. The father says he gueses he'd like his son to be dark. the wife eventually says she'd like the baby to be light. a big fight ensues.
So just a fictional example but this (as Whoppi has said) is a common conversation. Meghan and Oprah turned it into someth

Love Curb (sorry off topic) but that show has no filters and the skin-color-tone issue is so common IRL. But the awful duo need to make $$$ so make that a topic.

TW will sell her own kids down the river some day if she needs the dough. (if they are her kids)

How can saying you're an only child be "an opinion"? M even embedded that she wished she had not been an only child. Her spoken wish was the truth. She is not, nor has never been an only child FACT.

M could have said she was the only child of her mother OR the only biracial sibling OR she felt like an only child. BUT she did not! She said she was an only child.

How would you feel if your sibling denied your very existence?

What she really meant was she wished she was an only child, now that would have been an opinion. Lying is not an opinion.

For a while, the BRF made it possible for her to say what she liked, her family were treated as annoying flies buzzing around ointment. The minute she left the firm's protection (despite H's 'truth' that apparently there was none - there was plenty FACT). After she left, she had no huge machine to clear-up her mess, no media good-will in the UK, no staff to sort out her mess and/or dress things up. Not even her fairy-godmother Oprah could help her by going along with all her lies. Meghan made Oprah look like a amateur. Until M came along, I had no idea OW was such an 'operator' too, but M even fooled her.

I wonder who the source of this rumor is, TW? It looks like some of the earlier rumors about a potential divorce came from the Harkles camp.
Maybe it's to generate sympathy & headlines? The couple who personify True Love (tm) being undermined by cruel cruel life (and the BRF & British press).

The coronation ceremony in the abbey , with only 3000 in attendance, anyone have details ?
Supposedly, the invites will favor real people rather than just politicians, peers, foreign heads of state
I wonder if spouses will be invited ? 3000 is not a lot, if I were the event planner I would delete the duke/earl/marquis etc plus ones , that would solve the MM issue

Tasmanian to be exact and she pointedly had to learn Danish before the engagement , she is fluent now and her kids joke about her accent
Mary's father was Scottish and emigrated to Australia. He even wore a kilt at her wedding to walk her down the aisle. My BIL is American, but works in Denmark and had to learn Danish. He won a prize and got to chat in Danish with the Queen of Denmark at the award's reception. I always figured she was used to the accent because of Mary.

Bla bla bla... It wouldn't surprise me if she had already packed her bags.

Sources spilled that the Duke of Sussex, 38, is mulling going solo to London for the 90-minute ceremony — provided he gets a front-row seat and isn’t shunned as a total outsider.

But Meghan, 41, finds it appalling Harry is even considering the palace’s one-sided plan, a source spilled. “Apparently, she finds this proposal insulting and typically manipulative, since it’s forcing Harry to choose between his current family and attending the coronation,” spilled a source
.

Oh the choosing story again. Like when she told her father that he had to choose between her and her half brother and sister. Setting up Harold, is she?
