Prince Harry and Meghan Markle thread

I kindly request that all members participating in the MM and Harry thread dial back the vile rhetoric.

I am not opposed to discussing public personas on TPF, including the constant torrent of news surrounding the couple from this thread. But I find it troubling when their looks are being nitpicked apart to a degree that is just not appropriate.

This thread has drawn criticism over the years, and I discussed it at great length with Megs and the mods. I am not looking to close it down, but the vitriol needs to be dialed back.

My personal feelings about hate threads aside, this ultra-negative vibe is something better suited for other forums, Reddit, or elsewhere. I am holding our community to higher standards.

Thanks for reading.

The fact that H&M were invited by Portia (since it was a surprise, it obviously wasn't Ellen) speaks of desperation on both sides.

Thoughts:
Ellen looks kidnapped
Megs is wearing one of Harry's ol' army tents
Apart from Harry, everyone looks like they came round for a BBQ. Perhaps, this is what H wears for a BBQ?
So Portia gets to play/photo pretty and Ellen wears - gardening clothes(?)
I'd be furious if someone presumed I'd want to renew my vows without any say in the ceremony - or if I'd want to
I wouldn't take part, even as a guest, in this birthday party/renew vows hybrid-hijack-hack
Why is Portia wearing big white wedding dress except to go shopping for one? Obviously, MegZ would understand, can't think why she didn't buy another (4th) for this party too?
Why are the men/women separated?/?

Desperate Real Housewives or divorce courts cannot be far off for either or both couples :sunnies:
If this is the whole tape, there were no “vow renewals”.

Kris Jenner read her fan letter to Ellen and Portia. Portia did a soliloquy about an awkward looking Ellen. Sealed with a passionless kiss.

Yawn. The Suckesses departed Royal life for this? At least the vapid party gave H and TW something to do for a few hours.

Based on Harold's interviews, I believe the Harkles' demands are real. The media, by exposing these demands, make it more difficult for Charles to accept them. He will not want to be seen as a weak person who gives in to unreasonable people imo.
I’m not questioning what H is demanding, I am questioning whether or not there are actual negotiations taking place. He and TW can demand to be made king and Queen of the entire planet but if no one responds to their demands and just ignores them then there is no negotiation. They can’t force others to accede to their demands unless they have the power to do so and I don’t see that H has any power to force KC and the BRF to agree to or accommodate any of their demands. They wanted half in half out, the Queen said no. They demanded titles for their 2 children. I haven’t seen titles being handed out to their 2 children yet. They’ve demanded an apology from the BRF and all I hear are crickets. It takes 2 to negotiate and if one side won’t even respond then too bad for H. Every time H and TW open their mouths, they alienate more people. They are laughing stocks after H’s work of fiction which was supposed to make the BRF tremble and cower. The BRF is chugging along, doing their jobs and have ignored all revelations and accusations H has made.

I agree. Harold is likely talking to someone in the Firm, at least the person (or people) in charge of delivering invitations and taking care of accommodations. He is clinging desperately to everything that is royal. He may be dumb, but he knows that without a connection to the monarchy, nobody would pay a penny for his talent imo.

You know how we read about Tom Cruise, Marla Maples or a prenup that is set to expire divorcing their spouses before a certain amount of time so they don’t have to pay more in alimony should they divorce?

Ellen is extremely wealthy, not just from TV but from flipping all those houses. I don’t know why I thought of the above but I did. lol.

But no vow renewals? No point to this silly ‘look how I can still get into my old wedding dress’ shenanigans.

These stupid money whores broke off from the RF on their own. Now they want an apology? For what? After throwing the RF under bus and accusing them of so many things without any proof or witnesses who could vouch for them? Before they broke off from the RF, they wanted "half in, half out". So if the RF were truly racist and drove Claw to want to commit suicide, THEN WHY WOULD THEY HAVE EVEN WANTED THE "HALF IN" OPTION?????? Makes ZERO sense. It's way past time for the to STFU and grow up. But they can afford to be a$sholes simply due to being who they are.

I agree that there are no negotiations and it is more like Harold putting out what he wants. It’s throwing chewing gum at the wall to see what sticks I think he is afraid. Afraid of the humiliation of being treated as a nothing in the outfield bleachers. He knows what happened at the funeral. He whined enough to get a uniform, but didn’t get his ER pips as payback for whining his way into it. He won’t be treated that well this time around. They don’t have to give him anything as @DoggieBags stated. He is no longer a working royal. Lady Louise and James could get better seating than Harold. The coronation planners have to make sure that if he shows up, he is placed in such a way as not to be troublesome. That is exactly what they did at the Jubilee service. They were ready for him too. Answering his question about seating with “your grandmother.“ made that obvious. That answer was clearly devised in anticipation of Harold’s displeasure of discovering where he was going to sit. We may joke about Johnny being seated behind him as a watchdog, but I don’t think that just happened. Everything was planned. The one thing they should have done was send minders to drag them out of bed so they could take the transport with the others to the church as planned. Their little solo stroll down the aisle was a distraction and the only ”win” they had that day.

As a poster pointed out vow renewals sometimes are the precursor to the breakup. Their rough spots have been written about in gossip rags. That looked like a motley crew cobbled together at the last minute Given the way they were all dressed, I’d say ir was a “come as you are party,“ except that Harry was wearing a jacket

My favorite prenup expiration was Ron Perelman and Ellen Barkin. Time was up for her and she was thrown out of the house in her pajamas. She sold all the JAR jewelry he gave her so she did well.

I think they will accept if offered to them with the right price tag.

Good, it will be the nails in the coffin for these two losers, everyone will be asleep from the opening titles.

Although I am not sure how Emily in Paris got to series 3

Seating should be like the theatre. If you are not seated before the overture or certain first acts, you stand in the back or outside the doors waiting for intermission. As the coronation will not have an intermission, the problem of their tardiness is solved.
