Prince Harry and Meghan Markle thread

I kindly request that all members participating in the MM and Harry thread dial back the vile rhetoric.

I am not opposed to discussing public personas on TPF, including the constant torrent of news surrounding the couple from this thread. But I find it troubling when their looks are being nitpicked apart to a degree that is just not appropriate.

This thread has drawn criticism over the years, and I discussed it at great length with Megs and the mods. I am not looking to close it down, but the vitriol needs to be dialed back.

My personal feelings about hate threads aside, this ultra-negative vibe is something better suited for other forums, Reddit, or elsewhere. I am holding our community to higher standards.

Thanks for reading.

I think they are invited. They will just be tightly managed like the jubilee. Just order more candles to block the camera vision of them.

So,

(Lady C - through her sources)

It's a state occasion not a family occasion. KC is not the only one making decisions.

BRF will invite Harry to be polite.
But in a way that let's them know they shouldn't bother (no balcony, no extras, no after-show party state soiree, can't sit together at the coronation itself etc)
H&M should take the hint they will be otherwise engaged

ITA. I don't believe for a minute that she breastfed either baby, whether born from her or not. She's much to vain and self centered.

It's hard to imagine her doing anything that might leave breast milk stains on her precious designer rags. Don't they have medications that will stop lactation?

Of course if The Queen Of The Migrating Baby Bump wasn't even pregnant in the first place, problem solved. Why put yourself through something as potentially dangerous as childbirth when you can pay someone else to do it for you? And this childless old lady wants to know - can someone actually walk around in 5-inch stiletto heels when they're 8 1/2 months pregnant, especially on those Victorian Era brick or cobblestone streets that seem to be pretty common in the UK? Just thinking about it scares the Dickens out of me.

My Mum gave birth to eleven children. I asked her this question and she said definitely no, then made a comment to add that there would be no getting up from that position either.

PS. My Mum had already given birth to all eleven children whilst still younger than Meghan when she had first and my Mum was always very fit and healthy.

I asked around in 3 different small local book stores in quire affluent neighborhoods about the sales of H‘s phantasy fiction work. All sales people I spoke with were super friendly, one just laughed at my question (she had sold very few so far), one other was just lifting an eye brow (also minimal sales), and one store has it only on demand, no stock. Guess what? No copy ordered so far. So there is still hope for mankind

I think you think too much of her.

She doesn't give a hoot about her pricey designer clothes apart from cos playing Di and creating 'iconic' photos for posterity. They were free, why on Earth would she care past the photo-op ?

My local store (Waterstones) ordered 15 (still available half-price) as reported earlier in this thread.

I went in yesterday (bought Dana Thomas Gods and Kings: Rise and Fall of Alexander McQueen and John Galliano- I know late to the party)

9 are in the window with promotional bumph (taking up half a window)

4 were on the half-price table

1 in the autobiography/biography section (where I went to look for my book - but it was under 'fashion')

That means, based on the evidence by my own eyes, so far they've sold 0 copies.

Those cobblestone streets can date back to the Romans, lol.

Nah I don’t think so. Our faith says that there is no compulsion in religion as we are judged by our intentions - not in our acts per se (verse in the Qur‘an). I have been involved in Mosque tours here in Oz in the past, and we never told our guests to veil. Some did, some didn’t, though most did, and that was very nice of them IMO. I would have problems if a woman walked into a mosque all scantily-clad, but so long as they’re covered in a modest-ish way, I‘m OK with that. My closest friends don’t veil out in public. They pray and adhere to all aspects of our faith otherwise, but yeah, they don’t dress the way I do for example. MegHan should’ve been more aware IMO. Heck there’s a billion of us on Earth, lol. Ignorance is no excuse.
Agree, I live in the country with the largest Moslem population in the world. Unless you are coming in to do prayer, there is no need to cover the head and/or dress formally. For example to tour the grounds of architecture, or just wait for a friend who is praying (I am not a Moslem). But TW was in Marocco in official capacity, it was a work day. She can style her hair and dress nicely for indoor, climate controlled events in Marocco (jutting bits aside), but went dishevelled for a mosque visit (and visiting people's homes)?? Arguably she was more presentable when attending tennis or visiting a dog shelter. Do not then be surprised people think it is intentional sign of disrespect.

Sadly, there are plenty of difficult tales in this world, many of them far more difficult and closer to TP's home, but he still chose to help the Harkles out of genuine generosity. People are free to believe in what they want. Isn't VF one of Harkles' favorite magazines for press releases?
Yes and that particular writer, Erin Vanderhoof, has been a big supporter of Meghan all along.

Wasn’t Catherine still wearing very high heels late into all 3 of her pregnancies?

I wasn’t responding to their clothing, instead, to what looked to me, an inappropriate, joking interchange between them. He has a doofus look on his face, makes a comment to her, and she goes full out into laughing.

Maybe just my perception but it seemed disrespectful. Years ago on a tour group visit to a Mosque in Istanbul, before entering we were given firm directions about good manners because “the Mosque is a place for ‘peaceful calm’ for worshipping God.” We were admonished not to make a noise, speak loudly, laugh out loud and to have phones muted and no photos.
