A reprieve came yesterday in the news that the increase in silks and bags will be postponed
I did grab a few bracelets, leather and enamel JUST IN TIME
And franky the increases in those metiers were rather significant.
The price increase is coming, but apparently some issues occured in the actual execution of those increases

There is still time to grap a few new season silks as the are now flooding into the usa boutiques and maybe get that bag you were planning to anyway......

TT, I've been doing a bit of the same -- bought four new items in the last couple of weeks! (will post them on the Recent Purchases thread soon, I promise!:graucho:). On my way out, I saw the Zebras 70 that the boutique had JUST got in, but simply couldn't add one more purchase this soon. So hard to not feel pressured with the increase hanging like the Sword of Damacles over our heads. The reprieve, however brief, is quite welcome!

You described it correctly and accurately
I have bought things I would have otherwise postponed
5 items I bought did have the increase since so I was lucky to get then in time
2 items had been ordered last year and I was thrilled they arrived before their increase
But with the silks I've been rushing - hurry to see new year- hurry to project out what I might need and want in the next six months
Hurry Hurry Hurry-- keeping thinking I'm in a race
I am going to faint dead away when my Amex bill arrives
Happy for the reprieve too
But this does keep the pressure on
Okay then
ZEBRAS!!!!
I haven't seen yet- how does it look?

LOL about the fainting dead away! I have to wait thorough the next billing cycle or DH is going to be the one fainting, and that is NOT good! :p

Zebras (not sure of the correct name) is lovely -- but then, I love anything with Safari animals! The one my boutique got has a blue background -- much like the blue background in Tendresse Feline of a season or two ago -- sort of a deep royal. The zebras were normal black and white zebras. The size of the zebras is perfectly scaled to the 70 size, IMO. Very cute scarf with great contrast. I have too many blue scarves already, so my SA suggested I wait for other CWs to come in -- which is sound advice, although I have no idea what those CWs will be. I only have a few 70s but would love a couple more as they are so easy to wear and not as voluminous as the 90s.

I am doing a last minute rush but OUCH OUCH OUCH on some of the increases - they are not at all consistent. I was going to grab a Rivale and they are now $620 USD. That is a $60 increase - nearly 11% That has been the rumor on leather jewelry but not everything is jacked up that much *sigh*

The enamels really jumped in price as did the CDCs. I heard the SLGs went up, as well. Not the RTW, bags or silks YET!

That's a hefty increase for a Rivale! I heard that regular leather CDCs are going up to $1500. Can anyone confirm or deny this? Hope that it is just a rumor.

gymangel, I think that H wouldn't raise the price of a CDC twice in such a short time span. Was referring to the current price increase and hoping that it wasn't $1500. Have not bought a CDC after the price increase, so if you have, please share. Thanks! :heart:

Hi Vigee! I bought an exotic CDC earlier this week and is was about 2300 including tax, so prices have definitely already increased. Sorry, I did not check on the increase of non exotic CDC. I, too have heard 1500, but have not confirmed this.

Okay, so a leather non-exotic CDC is $1275 w/o tax and an exotic CDC is $2300 w/tax, which of course varies depending on state.

I agree with TT, this is a significant price increase.
