Well....I just read this entire thread, and I'm pretty disappointed about the price increase. It is a little maddening to hear that for my grail bag it will cost over $10K when all is said and done. I may not even be able to get a 32 Kelly.....
But pre-loved H is also an option, and I've heard great things about the website for Kalidoplace....and maybe I'll score my grail that way...even if it takes a couple more years.

I’m pretty new to Hermes and have so far done all of my buying online (the U.K. website). Last year I noticed there was a price rise in January, just before the new season scarves started filtering through. Does this happen every year? I am thinking of buying a scarf from last season for my sister’s b’day later in 2019, I wonder if I should buy now?
With H, I have noticed it depends on what country and it is not always on all items. In past years, in the US particularly, I have seen price decreases on some items. Typically you will get some advanced notice of the increase so I wouldn't rush out and buy anything at this point....
my recent purchase of C18 epsom in November was US$7450 + tax, without any notice from the store / SA about the jump from $7250, the price I paid when I also purchased one in the same leather in April...
Price increases from Jan 1 yearly in Europe. The percentage of increase varies, however. There was a significant 10% increase in UK this year whereas in other European countries using € the percentage was the usual 3-5%.
There was price adjustment in the past when the £ was much stronger than the € but I wouldn't count on that now that prices in UK are already higher than € after the significant increase this year.

I would hope the US escapes an increase on bags atleast...they are significantly less expensive in Europe it seems.
I was told to expect an increase with the new year (USA based). Not sure the percentages, but silk was said to be 9%.
This is what I feared! The scarf I’m looking at is from 2 seasons ago- I don’t understand how they can justify increasing the price on something they’ve had in stock for ages!
I'm bumping this decade old thread because I think it's easier to keep all updates for price increase in one thread. I recently noticed that some bag prices have gone up in the US. For instance, the Lindy 26 in Clemence was $6950 at the beginning of the year, but recently I noticed that it is now $7100. The Constance 18 in Epsom was $7250 but have gone up to $7450 in May. Similarly, Birkin 30 in Barenia Faubourg was $12K but is now $12.3K.
While the increase isn't significant (around 3%) I find it interesting that no one has reported much on this. Also, price increase in US generally happens in February/March while it happens in Europe every Jan 1. Find it sneaky that they have increased prices without much communication.
