Oh no this is terrible news! I'm on the wait list for a CDC cuff (non exotic leather) and I'm hoping to get it by Valentines day. It took me this long to convince my SO that this would be the ideal gift. Does anyone know what a plain white silver CDC cuff will cost with the increase???

I so agree with you trama turgo! These prices are no longer justifiable. I still remember when a Birkin bag was under $5,000. While I understand that the price for, say, gold jewelry has increased because the price of gold has had such a steep ascent, the constant and consistent increases at H boggle my mind. Add that to the spotty customer service and yes, it's time for me to re-assess priorities too.

5% increase everywhere from beginning of January.

They have been adding 5% on top of all the prices at the beginning of each year, for the last few years.
It is a LOT if you just think that this 5% is being added, every year, on top of the price that was already increased the previous year, so price increases end up being EXPONENTIAL. It also ends up in being much more than what inflation is.

Hermès is really becoming too expensive in my opinion, there are more and more items that I think are not worth the expense anymore.
Birkin and Kelly themselves are really up to the exxxxtreme limit of what they are worth.
It is sad because it is the first time, after years of being a loyal customer, that I have these negative feelings.
And all this for items that aren't this exclusive anymore because I see them on all the Kardashian style girls in the world, and on all those who happened to have better incomes two months ago for the first time in they life? Pfff, excuse me?

I personally have already started to reorganise my priorities. I am focusing more on the purchase of some furniture or antiques, fine jewelry (at real jewelers, not Hermès), or even plans for eventual small but fun but real estate investments, instead of Hermès shawls, bags or leather jewelry.

A lot of fine jewelry has been increasing at a pace far beyond Hermes. Case in point, Verdura criss cross bracelet in 18K. It's an iconic bracelet. I paid about $7,500-$8,000 for it 2.5 years ago. The same bracelet is $14,000, now with another price increase in the coming month. Another is an Elizabeth Locke chain that has gone up by 30% in shortly over one year. And Locke is raising her prices next week too.

I just was in the Tysons Corner, Virginia store today.

Bags go up 10-12% on Tuesday 1/25, though Silky Pops are going down, weird.

Scarves are going up $10 on 2/1. SLGs and jewelry to follow in the next couple of weeks.

Does anyone have any idea what the price of a SO Black Birkin 35 will be when it hits the states? I may have just hit the "just say no to Hermes" point if there is a 10 to 12% increase.
Yikes!!!

I believe my SA thought the price of 90 cm silk was going to be $435 (more than 15%) at least this is what I thought I heard. I hope I was wrong. Really wrong.

Also, I think that Hermes fine jewelry can be classified as "real" jewelry. And, as the price of gold at $1342 an ounce, the price hike in fine jewelry is probably very justified. No one is hanging a bag or bracelet over our heads or has our necks in a noose of silk and cashmere to patronize H.

BBL, That's what Trina told me. Maybe I misheard her. I would not like it if they're going up to $435. I guess scarves will be a good use of Neiman's points. BTW, Neiman's was nuts with Last Call today. The shoe dept was unlike anything I've seen before.

I looked at the US site this morning, and it looks like bag prices are up. The all leather Garden Party has increased from $2600 to $2700.

I sure hope the silks don't go up 15%! Has anyone heard about the jewelry prices?
