Preference for LV made in France/USA/Spain...??

I used to covet a MIF...but I don't care much what I get. :shrugs:
It more of a personal preference. Some feel that that what they should get because that the company origin. Some just don't like made in US or Spain because having the bag make it less "French".

I've been buying LV since the late 1970s. I only get made in the USA if there is no other choice. And yes, I have overall noticed a difference in quality as much as I hate to admit it. I'm all for promoting made in the USA products, but not for LV. Although lately, over past 10-15 years, quality has slipped for both. Since the family lost the company, it's a shareholder driven LVMH company and the quality unfortunately reflects the change.

I have made in the USA,France,Spain and if I'm not mistaken a bag charm or two made in Italy. The only piece,I've ever had any issues with is a zippy monogram wallet made in the USA. Like most of my LV items this one was shipped to me from their online website because my nearest LV store is almost 4 hours away. I used the wallet a few times and the glazing on both sides in the corners started to break away and come apart! I brought it into an LV store and they sent it off for repair.I got it back and used it a few more times and it started doing the same thing in the same spots!(this was 4 years ago)I do a lot of online ordering from their website and I do get extra excited when I get an item that is MIF!!

For me, I try to get MIF whenever possible- LV is a French company. But sometimes it isn't possible esp. with certain SLGs and bags. And scarves/shawls generally are made abroad not in France- same with bag charms.

Also, and that's important to point out, some items produced in small quantity are only made in one location. Sometimes there is no MIF alternative.

This can be true- generally, I have noticed limited pieces are MIF but not always. My rayures GM NF from a few years back is MIUSA which was a little surprising.

I did just buy the poppy vernis rayures ZCP and it is limited for 2016 and it is MIF. Some of the Evasion line is MIF and some (ie., agenda) is MIS.

Most of the new releases the first month are normally MIF with the exception of the new tote that happens to be MIS. Also the Reggia was only MIS as well. I notice bags that are not very popular are also almost always MIF. Also the best chance to get a MIF bag in the states are around Christmas and Valentine's Day. And I don't see a difference in quality as I have all three.
