Whether or not all Prada bags r made in China or where else, i don't think im willing to spend so much and worried alot in the end. I heard alot of complaints about the quality as well. :nogood:

I stick to the secondary market and look for good condition, reasonably priced, previously owned Prada bags. If you go back a few years, you can find better quality Made In Italy bags for much better prices than the overpriced new junk Prada is tossing on the shelves now.

Two things: Prada Outlet bags are 99.999% of the time made in China (sometimes Romania or Turkey).
i dont know if what you are referring to is leather bags only or not. but i was so happy that the nylon tote bag with saffiano trim BR4253 that i bought in a prada outlet near rome is made in Italy.
i even told my tour groupmates that all prada outlet items are made in china. i hesitated to buy but finally gave in coz i really need a lightweight bag and that tote was really nice. did not see the made in italy tag until i was home.

I did say 99.999% of the time, so you obviously got one of the rare Made in Italy bags at that outlet. I was referring to both leather and to tessuto.

YES! This is what I do and I LOVE the Prada I have :D

Love Prada, But yes authentic prada items are also made in turkey, china etc.

If you want Prada made in italy, buy in high end store like Saks, neiman, actual Prada Store etc. BUT still look for the "Made in Italy" tag. Some saffiano women wallets in the Prada stores have a made in turkey tag. God only knows what else.

The Prada outlet depresses me. Lots of Made in China items sickening. No wonder the receipt says in bold red letters, No returns.

Hi, I bought a gorgeous new BN2534 in Nocciolo Soft Calf today at the new Prada Outlet in Livermore, CA. After reading this thread about the outlet bags being made in China I pulled the lining straight out of the bag and searched the seams until I found the black tag (it is sewn into the main compartment lining and not in the side pocket lining) - MADE IN ITALY.

FYI my side pocket lining does have a white tag with a number on it, so for those who see the white number tag and not the black 'Made In' tag in their inner pocket lining please check the main compartment lining, that's where I found mine.

This may mean one of 2 things- outlet bags are not being made exclusively in China - or - Prada does send its end of line/end of season retail items to certain outlets. This bag has the embossed Prada logo lining and not a microsuede lining. It's just like my retail store Vitello Daino hobo's lining (which also has a Made in Italy tag).

I am suspecting that this outlet may be getting some end of line retail/store demo bags since this was the only color available for this model (no one is really interested in buying Nocciolo for summer, right) and they only had 2 of these bags. I have never been to a Prada SPACE outlet and this one has no mention of 'Space' anywhere. My invoice just says Prada Outlet Livermore.

I paid 995$ for the bag. They also had the matching long wallet for 315$ but I drew the line ;) for this time.

I hope this helps - reading the whole thread was very instructional so I wanted to contribute my experience of getting a 'Made in Italy' bag at a Prada outlet.
