I was scrolling the handbags subreddit and there were threads about Polene price increases. I checked my past orders and the prices have since grown around 200 dollars! I can't believe I was early to a trend for once. The Dix is almost 600 dollars now?

There have been complaints about quality and customer service issues on that subreddit but clearly it hasn't affected Polene's popularity. Otherwise, I doubt they have the confidence to do price increases. It might also be a way to improve customer service and quality, and address customer complaints.

That price increase is out of control. I bought the full size Neuf in November of 2022 for $420. Now, not quite 14 months after I got it, It's $610! That is a 45% increase in just a little over a year!

I will say, I think the prices were very low before, and when you're in the hundred dollar category, going up even small amounts will be large increases percentage wise. I don't mind the price increases because I hope that slows Polene down in terms of production and helps them fix their quality issues or whatever else is going on. But also, we are definitely seeing huge growth for Polene as a brand. It may only take a few years before Polene hits the 1000 dollar mark and is considered a higher tier brand.

Yeah, I mostly agree with you. It is a matter of perspective that, say, $400 for a handbag is "low", but I do agree that it is probably the default perspective on TPF. Though I'm sure many will complain that Polene is no longer worth it, given the new price, I kind of disagree. At least for my one bag, the quality is pretty good in my extremely humble opinion, and seems to be at least on par with the $500 +/- $100 group of handbags. I would still buy even at the elevated price, if there was a bag I really wanted, but I just don't want anything else from them other than the Neuf. :noworry: We'll see if they have the status to charge in that $1000 range. With so many customer service complaints, I'm not sure ...

What irks me is that they are posting „new bags“ and then only have the usual ones and most of those only on preorder. Are they giving up on new colorways for their beautiful range like the Neuf? I‘m interested in another Neuf mini but the usual few dusty and mostly warm colors don‘t suit my coloring. I wouldn’t mind paying more but there‘s nothing that catches my eye…
