Does anyone know about this bag? I saw someone got offered this beautiful blue box Birkin 25 Sellier in Gold color with hand painted design and wondering what is it? Heard the SA said it is very rare bag.

Hi, @r luvs h ,

Would it be possible to please id the color of a 28 box Kelly sellier I purchased at resale during covid? At the time of purchase, the description listed it as bleu abysse. Subsequently, I recall someone at Hermes may have identified it as indigo, but my memory is faulty and I cannot find the H spa notes . Any help would be greatly appreciated ! Thank you in advance

Hi dear!:flowers: Would you mind sharing a couple more pictures of the lining of the bag (showing the back zipper and stitching) and one of the heat stamp (with the above stitching); that should help me narrow things down. I know it cannot be Bleu Abysse since that was not offered until several years after the production of this bag.

Thank you so much for this attempt @r luvs h  I don’t take the best pics, but here are some (hoping they correspond to the request above ) I did ask when the bag came back from H spa and I was told something like indigo, but I thought for some reason that indigo was much darker IDK. At any case, I don’t recall any statement re color definitively, so I could be entirely mistaken
Thank you in advance  And, I appreciate everything you do for all of us here

ETA: zipper interior is definitely phw, but looks warm toned in pic below (maybe bc of lighting IDK)

Thank you for the extra pictures! After a bit of umming and erring, I think the colour of this bag is most probably a very small dye batch of Navy. While there is a non-zero chance it could be Bleu Indigo, everything I’ve seen from the initial dye batches of Bleu Indigo (c. AW01/SS02) was very dark blue— nearly black.

On a possibly related note, do you know if the brushed hardware is original to this bag? I’m curious, as that could possibly change my opinion re: colour...

Thank you so much @r luvs h  I appreciate all of the care and thought you have put into this and all of your other posts. I got this bag as a COVID SIP eBay deal from various Asian resellers (I bought three Box Kelly bags, two 28s, one 32, from between 4-7K USD each. Will pm you details re hw as this is something that was worked on by H spa and @docride. (Of course, conventional wisdom recommends no prior outside professional work if you would like H spa to restore one’s bag).

thank you again.

Does anybody know what color this is? She said in a video that its rouge H but it looks more like grenat to me. If anybody has a comparison of both together...bonus!

Thank you so much, very informative as always!

I was drawn to it because it's such a wonky style, but I actually get a surprising amount of use out of it! It's very narrow, but makes a great laptop bag for days when I'm not carrying much else.
I love the quirkiness of the Sac Sorbonne. I have one myself in Vert Foncé Ardennes (W in circle 1993). Such a great, understated bag.
