A few months ago, I adjusted 2 pairs for free. My last pair, sent in a month ago, cost about $150. Same store, same VCA process. Maybe it just depends? The last pair is an older piece that I decided to finally adjust. Perhaps newer pieces are free. Anyhow, small price to pay for beautiful and comfortable earrings.
Hi, Thanks for the note! For the new piece you purchase, I also heard that changing the post on Alhambra is free except sweet Alhambra ( sweet size costs for change the post ) all is free but for new purchase, not old pieces. Of course I don't mind to pay for the cost and I can afford for that obviously  though I just wanted to make sure of the good service VCA has as It's one of the best brand of jewelry and I expect for the best service for the cost of the piece I pay and for the future's collection. I'm a newbie for this brand and It's my first piece from this brand ( thinking of vintage size onyx single motif earrings, or magic size onyx if available ) BigAkoya helped me so much and appreciate her kind support that makes me ease to ask question here

@Notorious Pink Do you happen to know if the non-standard backs can be subbed in post-production? Ie. If it’s possible to switch out the omega clips on an existing pair of earrings, vs. Having them manufactured with the non-standard clips up-front?
That’s a good question! I don’t know the answer for certain, but I’m pretty sure you can; I remember my SA telling me that they cost $1500 to add.

Just wanted to add that my VCA earrings were super painful and causing headaches until my SA insisted on having the posts changed by the in-house jeweller. They are now thinner and longer with the tension adjusted and I couldn't be happier! So comfortable like all my other earrings. She has also put this on my worldwide record so that any future purchases can be adjusted for me. I paid about USD 150 as the earrings are more than a year old and she also gave me a new earring box, not the new packaging. I hope this helps.

I am so glad to hear that the adjustments made a great difference for you. It is the same for me. I have started switching my posts to the thinner, longer ones and loosening the tension on the clips, and they are so much more comfortable now. I'm glad you can now wear your earrings without pain and headaches now!

I am going to check with my SA soon to see if I can change the posts on my sweets to thinner posts as well, since they are so thick and painful, but otherwise would be a cute option to wear sometimes.

I was told by my SM it can be done, she has done it for a few customers. They can't unscrew the posts but they can file it down, if you are happy with that.

Thank you for sharing this good news. I hoped and guessed that they would find a way to accomplish it. I would be happy with any method that makes them more comfortable to wear. That is very interesting that they file down the posts, I was wondering how they could accomplish it since the posts are not removable. Very interesting tidbit.

I’m not sure why they charge $150, as earrings adjustments meant to be free even beyond 12 months, this is written on their website. The charge meant to be only for other creations.

I don’t think that’s true now, I had my recent earrings changed to thinner post, and they don’t file it down. They actually unscrew and switch to thinner posts.

Perhaps because I bought them in a different country tax free and at a very good price due to the currency exchange then, I don't mind these minor charges. ;-)

Were you able to switch out the posts on your sweets? Did they charge for the adjustment?

I recently purchased a pair of sweets abroad but need to have the posts switched out for the longer ones. My SA in CA said they charge $180 for the adjustment. I wanted to know if this fee is standard or really up to the boutique? TIA.

Yes, I changed the posts on the sweets and yes I was charged for it. Well worth it, in my opinion.
