The 1297 issue of the Magna Carta manuscript is enclosed in a glass case after being unveiled at Sotheby's in New York. Sotheby's will auction off the King Edward I issue of the rare document that is universally accepted as the basis for modern constitutional law in December. The manuscript is estimated to sell for between $20 to $30 million.





Britain's Red Arrows Royal Air Force Aerobatic Team flies over the QE2 transatlantic liner, moored at Ocean Terminal in Greenock, west Scotland. The flypast was part of the fourtieth anniversary celebrations of the launch of the Clyde built ship.
