Posting this here because no one in my actual life understands the way I am simultaneously thrilled and terrified to let this new-to-me vintage croc Pullman out of my sight! But it deserves a spa day, so I just left it with H. I know it’s in the best hands, but why is my heart still palpitating?? Lol

I had a vintage croc Pullman exactly like yours many years ago, in the end I sold it as I never used it. But after I had bought it ( it was pre-owned of course) I sent it to the H spa and it came back looking much better. Unfortunately the inside had a lot of stains, but H doesn't touch the inside of bags so those remained.

Thanks for this! The inside looks rather good, given its age. Just a minor pen mark in the bottom of the middle compartment. I'm excited to see how much shine can be restored to the exterior. I considered just wearing as-is, but then I thought, why not let H make it look its best? I will wear it enough for the both of us! Lol

First of all, huge thanks to the wonderful, generous, and helpful folks in this H community that help us on our journeys to our vintage beauties.

Let me introduce my 1960s chocolate box calf Kelly. I’d been looking for the perfect vintage K and just so happened to come across this beauty with my very own initials—my unicorn bag. Ugh, I could have cried …

Once I had @bababebi authenticate her and she arrived safely from Paris, she needed some much needed TLC—boy, was she dry. Looking for alternative solutions to the H Spa, I discovered the famous @docride and her YouTube channel (can we talk about her videos and how she’s the Bob Ross of luxury handbags??).

I decided to send Doc a couple bags for a facelift, including my K; she brought her back to life (even getting rid of the smell), sourced and dyed a strap to match, and upgraded my clochette.

Here she is in all her (new-to-me) glory. So, so in love. (Who doesn’t love a good before/after?!)

Congrats! Your bag is stunning and how special to have found your initials! Truly meant to be yours !

I’ve been wearing one of mine that was also rejuvenated and hardware brushed by dear @docride, my 32K, bordeaux box leather, brushed phw, but @docride has also spa-ed and weather treated the two others in the group shot :)

She certainly feels meant for me!

@880 love your collection and that @docride loved on your bags, too!

Congrats she is beautiful. I love the life of vintage bags. Try leather surgeons. I’ve had them work on my vintage Kelly and she is beautiful

I've sent many of my bags to Leather Surgeons in PA for touch ups and refurbish. On the website he'll ask that you send a photo and tell you how much it would cost. He is not expensive and this is who the top Hermes resellers are using for their bags. He is top drawer.
This is a great idea and referral--but won't that void the eligibility for official Hermes Spa once you send it to a 3rd party for work?
I am surprised resellers are doing this---as it greatly deters some buyers, for the above reasons.

Most resellers will not pony up that anything has been done to a bag, or how many sell pre-owned bags as new. It’s been done for years. I’ve seen a few of my own bags that I’d flipped to resellers that were sold as new, and they were not. I even had one reseller ask for the plastic from the hardware of my bags and to send it to them so they could put it on hardware so they could sell a bag as new ( I did not ). Not new news, I think all this is pretty common knowledge.
