Cross posted from the identify color/leather/design thread…now that it’s officially authenticated by BBBB as such. 1994 “Medor” shoulder bag in black box leather. Bought from a reputable Japanese eBay seller. On my inspection it seemed authentic but also had it authenticated by BBBB to be sure. Unfortunately I don’t know the official name of this bag and haven’t seen this design online despite scouring this forum and general google search. Hoping H aficionados and OGs that might even have access to the old catalogs or have seen this design can chime in! I love learning about the history and tid bits about the bags! Thank you in advance!

Very nice. It has a striking resemblance to the Valentino Garavani.

Beautiful bag, I love it! I do not know anything about it though, but I hope you enjoy it a lot 😊
Thank you @Goldenbelle !!
Cute Bag! The Lydie ist shaped like an envelope... and the 2002 has a shoulder strap fastened like yours and a similar shape on the side, and also a cute buckle. From which year is your bag? I think some styles where only produced for certain markets... 🤷🏻‍♀️ I like finding Infos like this... there used to be black and white catalog pages with vintage styles and bag names in this forum... cannot find the pages anymore... good luck. Enjoy your bag!
@wilmi thank you! The bag was produced in 1994 based on the X in circle date stamp. Interesting to find out that some styles were only produced for certain markets! I knew Chanel did that but didn’t realize hermes had done that in the past too. Ahh that’s a shame about the previous posted catalog pages no longer being available. I’ve noticed some older posted pictures are not available to view. I came across a few old posts referencing older Japanese catalogs, “super collection”. They’re on eBay but unfortunately are from the 2000s. There is another set of books by Genevieve Fontan but those volumes either focus on Kelly, HAC, Birkin or handbags with 2 handles lol. So not sure if this style will be present in those books either. I may still get those because I find fashion history and Hermes history fascinating!

Thank you! Or does the Valentino garavani resemble the Medor bag? Hehe ;)

Wow they still look like brand new. I cam across a Vintage Ardennes Kelly 28 GHW in sellier. As I gather form what has been mentioned here the leather is really sturdy, however, does it hold it's shape and does it make the Kelly more casual? I never had the chance to see it in person. My preferred leather, except for exotics haha, are chevre and box. Togo for a Birkin, but so far I am on my Kelly journey haha I got a Royal Blue K25 PHW in Chever last November from the boutique, so unsure when I can get another one directly from H. Thanks C. :)

I have 2 40+ year old kelly 28s from the early 1980s. The leather looks new. Ardennes is pretty indestructible.

I have some of these "Super Collection " catalogs but the names are not always accurate, being phonetically translated from French to Japanese. Congrats on a lovely vintage bag btw. I have definitely seen these ones before. Japan has had a very long and cordial relationship with Hermes and they have always had many designs and items made only for their market. Up to recently Ginza has stocked store exclusives no one else really knows about. Apart from bags, they have store exclusives scarves and accessories. One year I was shown and bought two jersey hairbands, which I still have.

@periogirl28 thank you and thank you for sharing your knowledge! It’s very reassuring to know that you’ve seen the design before. While it looked authentic and BBBB also authenticated it, there’s always a little concern. But the fact that I hadn’t seen it before was also the reason I was drawn to it. I love finding little treasures. That’s so interesting about the long history of design exclusives in Japan that is still continuing today. I might have to take a trip there…for research purposes of course lol

I have an Ardennes B35. Such a great leather! Re: Casual-ness IMO Ardennes is on par with Togo, although it doesn’t slouch at all, but due to the grain is more casual than Box or Chèvre.
