Hoping it's just a larger production line with the hand-sewn, bespoke bags still made in the atelier.

For me, I've constantly waffled over the options of a bespoke bag for years, not wanting to get it wrong for the price of bespoke. This greatly reduces the buy-in and the indecision and having bought micros before, where service was impeccable despite a small price point, I trust the production for these will still be top notch. I don't use the bags I have enough, but I am tempted...

Hi ladies,
I am very torn about making a croc bag with Peter. So only concern I do have is the price point as it is close to the Hermes price point too for croc bag.

Do you think it worth the price even though not coming from a major house?

you have to really like the design to be able to say it's worth it, because otherwise, just get an Hermès bag (assuming you get offered)

All exotics are pretty expensive and with H you can only modify certain elements by SO without going full Horizon… So arguably you can have a far more personalized bag through Peter than from H.

The question should be do you simply want a croc bag or do you really love a certain design offered by Peter.

For example the dream bag is pretty unique and has a great hardware free closure system which isn’t offered by H.

I'm a bit disappointed that their customer service has not responded to my questions regarding the Libby Tote. It's been a few days and now that it is the weekend, doubt anyone will be answering until next week.

If you just want a “croc bag” there are less expensive/difficult options.

If you want a specific design, features, and level of quality that’s where the Nitz vs. other bespoke artisans vs H comes into play. If you want the bag within the next 12 months or so, without a lot of games and spending $$$ on other stuff you may or may not want, you can drop H from the equation.

If you’re even considering an H exotic you probably care that it’s H and recognizably so.

As with any bespoke bag, it’s harder to resell due to personalization, e.g. skin colors, stitching, initials.

You also need to factor in the production lead time. For my latest commission, I ordered the bag in December 2024. It will be ready in September 2025.

As @allanrvj says you have to love the bag style. Also, unless it’s Himalaya, Hermes exotics do not retain as much value as Hermes non-exotic quota bags, and if you actually use the bag, it devalues the bag as well. Then, there is the pre-Spend to factor in too.

Personally, I got tired of Hermes shenanigans and decided to go bespoke. My first commission was for a partial Himalaya Croc. It’s a stunning bag. The craftsmanship is stunning.

If you decide to do bespoke, you will get exactly what you want.

I think Peter was away for the Saut Hermès. So if he is also the one answering the customer service messages, it might have piled up while he was gone.

I would give Peter the benefit of the doubt. This is a completely new business line / model. There’s bound to be kinks.

Wow, that is pretty cool. So the elephant is source from those that pass from natural causes, or vintage elephant hide from before they were endangered?
From what I understand, wildlife conservationists periodically put down older male elephants to ensure the health of the herd. The hides and ivory are harvested and sold. The proceeds are the used for additional wildlife conservation activities to sustain the herds.

Wow, that is a pretty cool idea. Ut is good that the proceeds go to helping the elephant population.

By the way, I checked the website of your bracelet, and it does not specify if the elephant hide is real.
