I found a leather scent that might be the Dior bag/ authentic leather fragrance you've been looking for.
(linked) A lab on Fire: Hallucinogenic Pearl

I found it in a boutique today and all I smelled was leather. It smells exactly like my Italian leather bags! I don't have your Dior bag to sniff and compare :P but I think this is what you've always described.
My sense of smell is dulled at the minute, so I asked the two SAs what they could smell, and they both said it smells like leather to them.
If you want to test it, I'd suggest you do so asap because apparently this house only makes small batches of perfume, and once it's gone, it's gone.

I'm hoping other members are familiar with this scent and can give their input as well! :flowers:

Well, it's been around for about three years now, so if it's disappearing, it's not happening that quickly.

Thank you @jblended ! I will check it out!
I´ve kind of given up on my perfume hunt, because Covid definetely interfered with my sence of smell. I have to slowly re-encounter my perfumes.

Thank you.
There are days when I get frustrated, especially when I make progress then it all suddenly vanishes, but it's all worth it in the end.
I have had the pleasure of smelling orange and spices for the first time all over again. It's bizarre to have that experience as an adult. Very difficult to explain just how weird it is to pick up the scent of an orange after not being able to. It's refreshing and intoxicating, and I wonder how I took it for granted all my life!

Thank you. Mum's pretty easy to please. This small thing will have her brimming with excitement for years, lol!

Yes, you're right. It's mostly fresh/grapefruit/citrus we're smelling in this. Though, there is something more complex in there so that it's not a straight citrus fragrance but, I can't tell you what that is.
It's certainly very nice for this time of year!

I definitely think we have the new one (pic from the net).

I have seen pictures of the old bottles you're describing and they're very pretty with the ribbon.
I am glad to hear that your sense of smell is returning, and overall progress is being made, even if there are those frustrating days in between. The smell that comes from peeling a fresh orange is just so wonderful! I peeled and grated a fresh lemon peel the other day to make a lemon pasta and that smelled wonderful too!

Yes, the old Annick Goutal bottles are pretty, but the new bottle looks nice too. Some of Annick Goutal's fragrances are on the lighter, airier side (like Le Chevrefeuille), but even the lighter ones have layers and complexity to them. Enjoy your new fragrances!

Ah, that's good to know, thank you. I'll admit I didn't look at the link I posted. I took the word of the SAs who said it came out last year and would likely be gone by the end of this one. They're pushing for a sale, I guess.

Lemon pasta sounds divine! Wait, what thread are we on again?
Thank you for the support and all your insight as I've worked through this. You've taught me so much!

Hi everyone,
Just came home from a football trip to Berlin. Finally, I could sniff Krigler. I had 5 scents on my list I was interested in. In general, it is a sophisticated brand, very beautiful presentation but pricey  ....
Chateau Krigler 12---- pretty, pleasant, elegant, floral and sits close close to the skin. The longevity is not tremendous

Manhattan Rose 44---- de ja vu, reminded me White Rose Natural by Shiseido. Monotonous, cold, sonorous scent. I liked it, but the price kept me from a spontaneous purchase because my sixth sense was warning me not to rush.

Then I did my research and I found out: in 2011 a 50 ml flacon cost $165 and a 2ml sample 7,5ml, nowadays $ 395 and $30 respectively:annoyed:

I got samples from another brand, Urban Scents, I have to test them properly, but my first impression was the brand is worth paying attention and I would have a couple of flacons in my collection.

Yes. There are a few from Krigler that I really like, but I'm not quite sure they're worth the asking price. The ones I like are ones that I really like, though, and I'm not sure of anything else out there that is similar to one in particular.

Urban Scents, this brand is based in Berlin, the nose is a French lady, named Marie le Febvre.
I had never heard the brand before my perfume mate asked about Ber Cavok, the scent was a hit in some top reviews. Fortunately we went to Berlin to watch a football game. The hotel was close to the US Boutique and I headed to get more information.
I bought 2 discovery kits ( the price was surprisingly reasonable and vials are not little).

There are nice fragrances, 2 ones in a current collection and 2 ones in a vintage collection. But most scents are pale, light and I would say, nothing special.

I have tested many brands lately. Maybe I am mistaken, but one nose brand misses a lot, they have an " outlier" (?) or 2 and as a multiple nose brand offers more.
