Yes I did, they are on the way

very curious about her. Was she reformulated, a new version?

got earlier as well, very interesting scent,

7 ones from Fueguia

I will have to order from the Gallagher website as well.
Now excited to hear what you think of your Fueguia perfume.
Not sure about Zoologist Camel.
Good to know I'm in for an interesting scent with Goodfield & Banks.
Fragrantica had a thread about magical desert scents, and it got me really curious. A bunch of my current samples are from that thread.

My question is, in your experience how long do perfumes tend to stay "good" (ie don't turn)?
I have two bottles of Chanel Egoiste that are from 1989/1990, and they're fine. I know of people who have bottles of perfume that are much older than that. Don't believe any of that garbage about perfumes going bad after a few years. That's often said by companies and/or people who are trying to sell more perfume.

I second this. The chocolate choice is a no brainer, but the perfume is a tough choice at the present time.

By the way I ordered a few samples from the Perfumed Court, they seem to have a nice selection.

I ordered my perfume, and got my favorite chocolates at lunch. Sensual Orchid by Laurent Mazzone seemed appropriate as a Valentine's scent. It should arrive by Valentine's Day. The chocolate will be gone by then - so I'll just have to buy more, right?

Hi all! Haven't posted here in a bit. Regarding the samples I got at sephora recently, they are both ok. I love the opening and middle of the Gucci Bloom Nettare di Fiori, but the patchouli eventually becomes too much for me. The drydown is almost exactly the same as the Flora Gorgeous Gardenia. I have a bottle of the Flora GG that SO bought me as a gift, but I don't wear it often. I wear it very occasionally so I don't hurt his feelings lol, but patchouli scents are iffy on me. Too much gives me a headache. So I don't really need a bottle of the Bloom. I would like to smell it on someone else, but isn't for me. If you like Jasmine and patchouli though you should give it a try.

I do like the Dior Rose n Roses. It's a nice scent, but I don't feel it has anything special that makes me want to buy a full bottle. That said, there's nothing that I dislike about it. I think it would make a great scent for people that want something "safe" to wear to the office daily, church, etc.

I impulse bought an extremely inexpensive bottle of Elizabeth and James Nirvana Rose at TJ Maxx the other day. I've wanted to try it, and for the price of a decant and shipping I figured I might as well. I am so unsure how to feel about it. It's not a fresh rose at all, not even a few days past it's prime...it's a completely dead, crunchy, crumble-when-you-touch-it rose. It is so wierd, but there's something I like about it. It is linear on me all the way through, dried roses and vetiver. I think it would be great if my SO wore it. Maybe I should give it to him and not say what it is. All in all, it's OK. I like the bottle, so for the price I paid I don't mind if it end up sitting on my dresser.

I have found one new absolute love, Serge Lutens La Fille De Berlin. I bought a 5ml mini off Mercari. I've worn it for over a week straight. It's a thick, sweet rose. The rose note is a lot like that in Rose de Nuit, but without all the skank Musk that I love. Kind of a safer day option. This is one of the few scents with patchouli that is wearable for me. It's faint and the sweetness kind of evens it out. I will eventually have a full bottle of this one.

I have some things OTW that I'm excited about. I have a sample SL Fils de Joie on the way which I'm really excited about omg, and a sample of Kiehl's Musk. Trying to find a good Musk that is easier to find and cheaper then Muscs Koublai Khan, so if anybody has suggestions please I would appreciate it.

I have a 5ml mini of SL Fleurs d'Oranger on the way, too. I swear I am going to branch out from SL now and try some new brands! I made the longest Wishlist on Surrender to Chance last night.

I bought my SO a mini bottle of Guerlain Homme to add to his V-Day gift. I've never tried it and I love mojitos so I've wanted to smell it. I think I'm more excited about that than what's otw to me.

Hi all! I've only recently gotten into fragrances. After ordering the Byredo sampler box, in the last month I have purchased a large bottle of Super Cedar, and small bottles of Mixed Emotions and Black Saffron. I want to also order Rose's No Man Land, but I am unsure if I should purchase the small or larger version. My question is, in your experience how long do perfumes tend to stay "good" (ie don't turn)? I looked it up online and found 1-10 years, which is vague. If a bottle stays good for 10 years then of course it is worth buying the larger one, but if it only lasts a year and then turns, perhaps I should stop buying pricy perfume right now.

I meant to say this earlier but got sidetracked. I'm not sure if it matters much across brands, but I have Guerlains and Chanels that are over 15 years old. My Guerlain Jicky is over 20 years old and still smells like it did when I got it. Several of my others are probably over 10 years old. My perfumes are usually in my bedroom closet, but I kind of rotate ones to keep out and use. Like my heavy winter scents usually stay In there during the summer. Most of mine also stay in their box even if they are not being stored in the closet. I do agree that proper storage is important.

I also do agree that a lot of that is said to sell more product. I've never had a perfume "turn" and I've loved perfume since I was a kid begging my mom to use her Avons. I've bought quite a few bottles in my life.

Please share your thoughts on the scents when you get the chance.

Finally, I managed to wear all three scents
In general, the style is Belle Epoque, elegant, classic, exquisite. Silage is not loud and longevity is above average.

La Rose Jacqueminot -classic, as I can say well- read, well bred and with the perfect manners.
Le Jasmine de Corse well balanced scent, refined soliflore, wrapped beautifully and carefully

L' Origan -amber-woody, very quiet scent

Thank you for the reviews!

Hello my sweet-smelling friends.

Does anyone know where I can get reliable vintage fragrances that aren't priced too crazily (besides E-b-a-y)? Must be UK friendly.

I need to buy Valentino Uomo/Homme EDP (2014-18) in the original bottle for a man who's run out.

2019 they (L'oreal) changed the formula and later the bottle too and apparently he 100% won't entertain the reformulated version.

All the sites I look at have the original bottle shown, but are selling the new stuff. It's made more difficult because if I write to ask about the formulation, of course they say it's the original - but I'm not so sure. I've given-up hoping for Monday but 'sometime soon' would be fine.

Thank you for this information. They sound very nice. I was going to look for vintage L'Origan during my vintage explorations last summer, but did not get around to it. I loved the scented powder I had in that fragrance.

Good question, @papertiger. I am not familiar with this fragrance but have you looked into the perfume websites and forums? You could probably post there to ask for more information. I think online auction sites are probably still your best bet. You can research seller feedback and selling history. Last summer, I realized that if I wanted vintage fragrances, they were my best option. It's important to pick sellers who show actual photos of the item, and not just a stock image. Also, ask lots of questions. Sorry I can't help more, but maybe someone else will have more information. Good luck in your quest.

I think your best chance is going to a fragrance site like Fragrantica, look for Valentino Uomo. What will come up is various customers opinion of the fragrance, and if you are really lucky, someone may have a bpttle to sell. Basenotes is another site. Where is Ultravisitor? He is very knowledgeable and well traveled, perhaps he may know. Keeping our fingers crossed for you papertiger!
