I agree. It is impossible to tell Paspaley from the pearls' pictures alone, but I do see a large number of Stuller pieces on the FF site, so that is undoubtedly Paspaley as they only wholesale Paspaley pearls in their pieces. I also see Imperial Deltah pearls there with one of my favorites, the Eyris blue.

Yep Imperial Delta is new. I was seduced when I saw the Eyris pieces at Instore last month. I've been reading about the Abolone over the last year and it's such a fantastic industry. And as far as Stuller, frankly I can't count on them to properly follow direction on the type of South Sea shape/color so I generally use Paspaley from my own inventory and drill, put together the findings & pearls myself. I use them in my casted pieces too but I don't limit myself solely to Paspaley. Recently I've enjoyed working with South Seas from Myanmar, Indonesia and the Phillipines. I especially like pearls from Branellec's farm on flower Island - gorgeous South Seas in soft hues and their environmental work & involvement with the local community is admirable.

i bought the AAA Akoya 8mm gold pearl earrings & the 60" 11mm baroque pearl necklace from pearloutlet.com sale & just received them yesterday.

am very pleased with the earrings as it has a lovely lustre.

as for the necklace, i am not moved. I will keep them for novelty wears. I concluded it is an acquired taste for baroque pearls. I will just stick to buying round pearls. :D

As promised, here are better pictures of the Paspaley Baroque SS strand Elana (Japster) of futurefashionista.com made for me, along with the Paspaley round South Sea studs (around 12mm), and the Tahitian & diamond earrings she made for me that arrived today. The drops are silvery gray Tahitians approx. 16mm in white gold with a bezel-set diamond.

This thread is so informative- I love it!
Does anyone know if there is a list somewhere with the different pearl types and also the various colours available for every pearl type?

Here are some examples of different colors/overtones in various pearl varieties. I generally work with the unusual or fancy natural colors so please excuse if this really wasnt what you were looking for.

These are Tahitian Pearls from Pinctada Margaritafera. The middle pair is very platinum- it is almost the look of a South Sea white.

Everybody's pearls are really lovely!!! Thanks for sharing!! :D
I recieved my 72" freshwater pearl necklace from Jaspter today and I am very happy with it!! She is the best!! I am no pearl expert and I know this cannot be compare to the tahitian, south sea, or other top quality pearls. But I think it's a great starter pearl for me, right?? I had a lot of fun playing around with the different styles.
