For sure I would not go for one bag for $2,000, one bag is never going to satisfy my every handbag need. Also I get bored with one look easily. I would either go for one bag at $1000 and two at $500 or more likely the 4 bags at $500.

I discovered a few years ago that the more I have paid for a bag the less comfortable I am actually wearing it. I freak out at the sight of rain drops (which is bad because I live in the Pacific Northwest and it rains often here) and a stain or smudge makes me quite crazy. So I choose lower priced bags and I can relax and wear them without constant worry.

I started out in the $500 range, then quickly found myself in the $1500 range, then buying bags even higher than $2k. Then I took a little break from TPF went nearly a year without buying much except for a less expensive bag (in the $300 range) that I bought to be my throw around bag. When I started to get back into designers bags again, I just couldn't justify any longer spending a lot of money on a bag. I guess I just started to think of what else I could do with that money. Now the currrent line I'm into is very reasonably priced (around $500) and the leather is amazing, the quality excellent and they are handmade. So I'm in the 4 for $500 range now. Although that doesn't mean I still don't lust over the more expensive bags! :D

I started buying bags In the $500 range and was feeling satisfied, but as the years went buy, I found myself buying more expensive bags and have now bought bags in the $2K range. There are times when Im craving to buy a bag and just buy a bag in the $500 range but it just doesn't satisfy the craving *sigh* ... So that being said, I think I would buy 1 $2k bag that I absolutely love over 4 $500 bags.

I have some of both. I always bought $500 bags, quickly moved to more expensive bags. I found that a lot of the really expensive "it" bags didn't fit my needs well. Lack any organization or other things that didn't work for me. A couple of years ago, I decluttered, got rid of any bag that I didn't LOVE, regardless of price or where I got it. Resold some, donated some, kept some. Now what I , I love. I use. Regardless of price. I am finding that the $500 bags work harder at pleasing customers - organization, pockets, outside pocket for phone- than the current IT bag. Yes, that it bag looks great, but if it is a pain in the butt to carry day in, day out, I get annoyed. So now I buy only what I love and use!!!! Right now, Oryany bags are fitting that bill nicely!

This is SO true!!! I have become that way with Furla leather bags now. Very well made, gorgeous to look at and easy on the wallet! They're exactly what I've been looking for. I can't believe I haven't noticed them before now. Spent tons of money on LV, Gucci, Chanel and Prada....if I'd only known.

I think the best way to go is what with you think you'll love most. A bag that make you happy to wear and see in your closet. Regardless of quantity or quality because in reality a lot of "quality" for premier bags are subjective

4 $500 bags hands down. I am too paranoid to carry bags in the $2000 range (most I've paid up to this point is $1600-$1700 and most expensive in my collection ATM is $1100). I also rotate bags very frequently so I prefer to have more to choose from ;)

I'm the several bag kinda girl, honestly i just don't see myself being satisfied long enough to justify investing in one or two very expensive purses, the quality on the lower range is usually more than adequate and frankly, while I do pay for a name to a point my tolerance for it only goes so far lol.

I just joined the $2k club. It was worth it to me as it was the bag I have been looking for for a decade. This is the "forever" bag for me and it is practical. To round out my collection I'll go cheaper for the ones that'll get less use.

In finding my dream bag I found that many of the over $500 bags didn't feel nice than the sub $500.

I also know that while I won't baby my pricey bag, it won't go out in the rain either. I never seem to like what happens to a bag after a long walk in the rain. I swap to my saffiano MK selma or Hamilton instead. :)

No worries about soft leather losing the smooshiness.

Although 2k and $500 bags are not in my budget. I totally agree with the only keeping and buying what I absolutely love. In my small collection I love and use all my bags.
