the most expensive bag that I own is my stella McCartney...I love it! I am finding it harder and harder to spend that much money on a bag...2K could buy 2 plane tickets to somewhere amazing, could pay the rent/mortgage, several car payments, some college tuition, put away for a rainy day....although I really love the lv Bloomsbury, there's no way I'm going to spend 1270 for it...and it's funny to hear that people think that the quality of $500 bags is inferior to 2K bags...I've owned really expensive bags...as an example, I owned a Gucci bag and was running out the door one day, picked the bag up and the whole bottom just fell out...meanwhile, on the other hand, I have an mbmj nylon bag that I can't kill...all that being said, I think if people want a 2K bag and that's their passion, go for it!

One bag for 2000, rather have quality instead of quantity. And of course not all 2000 bags are of good quality, but with good research, you will find your investment piece. :)

For me it's getting what I love, im really gratefull that I have not had an over 2k obsession😜
I'm looking for a pop of colour for next summer and I'm really happy that there are options for 500 or even less.
So at the moment I'm in the 4x500 club.

I have purchased bags in the $2000 to $3000 range but I agree with MrVuitton price does not always equate to quality. I am now buying bags in the $500 range from handbag makers that make bags the old fashioned way one bag at a time. I am finding the quality and attention to detail really good and the price point is incredible. Of course the bags do not have the same name recognition as high end designers but that keeps the price point down. I am finding that I am enjoying using these bags a lot more than I ever did the high end ones I owned. The leather is gorgeous and gets better with use and I am not worried about getting a scratch on it. It takes a fair amount of research to find a well made nice quality handbag at this price point but well worth it.

Add me to the 4 - $500! I'm done with the scandalous pricing. Just purchased a $210 berry colored leather hobo from LandsEnd and am in love with it. Light colored lining; weighs a pound and wears like iron. Prove my point? Best part? No one can figure out who the designer is!!

I would have to say I'm in the one bag at $2,000 camp right now. I never thought when I joined here 4.5 years ago that I'd EVER buy a bag that cost that much but I've worked my way up and I now have four LV bags, two of which were $2,000 and I adore them.

I love the Chloe Drew but I got turned off when all these young celebrities simultaneously started instagramming the versions Chloe gifted them.

I'm in the 2,000 camp. I like the % of the MSRP I get back from bags in that range if I get sick of them and want to resell.

Gack!!

TOO HARD!!

But, in truth, I guess it depends. The Chloé in the lead photo is my new obsession right now, but honestly, if I had to.....:confused1: I dont know. :panic:

Where do you stand on this issue?

Just for fun, lets see your choices. The 4 $500 bags you would throw the $2000 bag out of bed for, the $2000 bag that you wouldn't trade for even FOUR bags.

{{{Sigh}}} I have no discipline, no will power. I buy the $500 Michael Kors/Kate Spade/Coach bags (I mean, I don't actually pay 500 for them; never, never pay full price), when I would love an LV or a Prada. And I could afford one, if I could only reign in my raging, compulsive handbag jones. Yeah. Fat chance.

PB, whenever I see your Avatar, I think of this scene -

Connie Corleone: Michael, now they will fear you.
Michael Corleone: Maybe they should fear you!

I would do the four $500 bags, if we are putting a price up there. The monetary value does not even remotely constitute quality. I have a very beautiful Bottega Veneta Medium that blew a woven cut on the bag and I basically had to super glue it to stay together. My $500 Koobas are as tough as nails. I don't like wearing designer bags just for the name, and just according to my experience, I will never spend that kind of money on one bag ever again.
