I just read through about 20 pages to catch up. I'm continually amazed at the poor service some stores offer. I've seen some differences in treatment of customers while watching how certain store(s) treat customers while I was browsing and observing. You'd think they'd try to be really full of service for those who are real aficionados of the beads. After all, there is a plethora of stores, online and in RL, from which to order.

Why buy from anyone if they don't treat you right?

I know one bank that greets now, whereas in the past they'd just do their work.

It's a whole new world out there.

Well. I went into my store today and ended up buying 2 clips and a bead. I got the 2 tone heart clips with the pink sapphire and peridot. I got the 2 tone flower bouquet/love bead. It all looks so very pretty on my bracelet. I guess I have to take an updated picture. Pandora is an addiction.

I recently purchased the Hans Christian Andersen hat/200 years bead (I saw it on some website for $1K...can that be right???!!) - does anyone know if Pandora ever had a Little Mermaid bead??

Hi, can anyone who has bought one of the new leather bracelets tell me whether you sized down one size from what you would buy in a silver or gold bracelet? I wear a size 7.1 in the metal bracelets and have them full of beads. I was thinking that I would get a size 6.9 in the leather since I would only put a few beads on it. Anyway if anyone has bought one I would be interested to hear if you got a smaller size. Thanks.

I am in the same boat as you as 7.1 is my size. I haven't seen the leather bracelets yet, but I suspect that 6.9 would work for us as the leather will probably stretch a bit over time.

The store is called Polka-Dotz & its an awesome store...my favorite Pandora girl works there & she is a total doll. They also always have a nice selection & seem to be well informed.

Which ones did you get shinylizard? I want more gold for my bracelet. Even though it is full, I will trade out the two-tone beads for gold ones if I must!

I just ordered the Genesis bead (grape rhodolite dangle) and the new red CZ lights on-line, since my local stores don't have the new beads yet. I just couldn't wait anymore! I guess I am just impatient. One of the stores I visited recently didn't have the "Clear skies" bead (the one with 3 clear CZs). My mom wants 2 of them for her necklace, so I was shopping for her. I asked the sales associate and she said that they weren't making that one anymore (WRONG). I told her that I didn't think that was quite right and I would just order it on-line. Her response: "You can order beads on-line? Are you sure that they are real? I think that they are much too exclusive to order on the computer!" My mental response: "Are you nuts?!?" My verbal response: "Of course you can order them on-line." *uncomfortable laugh*
Another example of silly-ness in the jewelry store.

givemegold-

I got the gold barrel bead, and the gold link border bead. I'm in Seattle, we have high sales tax, so I don't do much local impulse purchasing. I figure I can always get 10% off at belloparadiso, so anything more than 10% off is worth it. With all the things I've heard about clips breaking on here (I change my beads out several times/week) I'm going to be buying all silver clips at my local Jared, since they have a warranty.

I just got back from visiting family, and showed my mom and sis my beloved bracelets. I got the impression they think I'm spending WAY too much money on them, so I doubt I'll be getting beads for birthday/xmas even if I ask for them.

Yes, that's the one. I have purchased from the shop. It is a tiny shop and the Pandora section is small, but they have a decent selection.

No good news to report. Couldn't find it anywhere. So, I bought another one. My bracelet is gold and silver combo. I just put on gold clips, and 2 gold beads. But, I learned a valuable lesson. The section between the clips were packed so tight the beads couldn't move. Not anymore. I was told by the jeweler that puts a strain on the clips. Also to be careful when wearing your bracelet and removing a jacket or coat. To make matters worse when I went to pay for it...I realized it was a babbling brook. Ouch!

i don't get it!!!
