Well, I am three beads lighter on the ones that I don't want anymore. I offered them to a few friends with Pandora bracelets and they chose 3 of my 7 unwanted Muranos!

I have a Troll bracelet (that I don't wear very much, but I do like it) and I know that the glass beads do not fit on the Pandora bracelets. The opening is too small to get over the threads. My favorite glass bead (that would be on every bracelet in my jewelry box if only is would fit) is the beige bubble one! I just love the neutral look of that bead. It looks like a pale gold and would look fantastic with the two-tone beads from Pandora, but, alas, it's not meant to be... My favorite silver bead from Troll does fit on Pandora, so I have added it to my green bracelet. It is really meaningful to me because its name is "Three Siblings" and I am the oldest of 3 and my husband is the youngest of three and we are planning on three children...one down, two to go :)

I never even heard of autobidding. that just stinks. You would think that would make kendalldew angry that someone would do that to make a profit
The reality of auctions is that it goes to the highest bidder, or in the case of BIN, to the fastest fingers. Technological advantages can be as simple as DSL vs. dial-up or auto bidder programs vs. old-fashioned reading the description then hand-entering a bid.

I suspect that there have been many people buying from kendalldew with the intent of flipping the beads at a higher price. Same as with other low-price sellers. The beads work their way through the system until they find a home on a bracelet.

Whether or not we think it is fair, that is the reality of the online auction business these days.

How about :
a little girl each (to remind you of when you were little),
a cup and saucer (for the times you have sat and had girly chats over a cuppa)
a heart of some discription or the I love you charm (for the sisterly love you share)
an animal - dog or cat perhaps (for any childhood pets you may of shared)
matching safety chains (good investment and can be a symbol of a bond that can't be broken)
matching clips (for the times you have put each other "back in your place")
the gift box (a sister is the best gift your parents could ever give you), the treasure chest (as you treasure each other)
a suit case (for all your trips)
the Moon and stars (as that is how far you would go to help her).
a cross (thank God he gave you a good one! he he)
the tshirt with heart (for all the time you have worn each others clothes)

Thanks Golden Touch for all the suggestions for charms my sister and I can have on our sister bracelets. They are excellent! In addition, we will have to definitely get my sister the heart charm and for me the breast cancer charm, because she has recently survived open heart surgery and I have survived breast cancer. We got each other through those medical challenges.

Thanks Karinjg, too, for your great suggestions. They will be part of the list I give to my sister.

See, I knew you all would have good ideas! :smile1:

Hello! :D

After oggling over them for years, I've recently started my first Pandora bracelet. I mean, just started... I have the bracelet and two clips. LOL. To those who wear their bracelets often, I'm wondering if your silver beads scratch easily. I tend to be rough with my jewelry and am wondering how my bracelet and beads will stand up to everyday wear.

I love reading all the posts and looking at all the great bracelets on the photo thread! I'll have to post a pic when my bracelet is a little further along.

Thanks everyone!

That really makes me mad. If people want to buy and resell, fine. But do it fairly. I can't believe ebay allows this. Then again, they are just in the business to make money. IMO, this defeats the whole purpose of having an auction site though. If I were Kendalldew I would be really mad and would be blocking this seller from my auctions.

Technically it is fair. Who ever keys the fastest with BIN will always win. The only way to slow down this process is the BIN with Immediate Payment as you have to do each BIN as a separate PayPal transaction (I've lost out on some things with another ebay vendor as a result).

As far as Kendelldew or any other vendor, they are in this to make a sale so it really doesn't matter who buys from them as long as it is paid for. We really can't blame her or anyone for that reality because at the end of the day, buying/selling is a business transaction.

What I have been seeing on ebay is that a lot of the hobby sellers tend to disappear as they can't compete with the powersellers. That is where it will really impact people like us who want to get rid of excess from personal collections, etc. as the fees keep going up and up....meaning the seller has to charge more and more.

I can understand it making you mad to miss out on a deal, but there is nothing unfair about it. All sellers on Ebay are in it to make money, wether you are just selling your stuff, or if you are a powerseller.Granted some of us might loose a few bucks but it isnt our intention when we list something.

Would it make you upset to know that Kendelldew, or other sellers are making a profit? You dont think shes listing just to cut us a deal? :graucho: Ive won tons of beads at great prices that eventually didnt work out on my bracelet & Ive turned around and sold them for a *gasp* profit :) It just happens to make my habit more affordable:amuse: If I happen to come across a bead I like on Ebay, I decide what I want to pay for it. It doesnt matter to me if the seller is making a profit, what matters is will I win it. If the seller doubled their money than more power to them,I guess they're better shoppers than me.....Im HAPPY I found what I wanted at a price I wanted to pay. KWIM?

I only comment on this because Im a part-time bag reseller/consignor ,and I have purchased many, many bags & have resold them for a profit.I dont cheat, I bid the same way anybody else does, & sometimes I spend HOURS online looking for a potential deal. Some I keep, some I sell:) Some I win,MANY I loose...its just how it is:blushing:

My suggestion is put your favorite sellers on your "favorite list" and you'll be notified when she lists something new....thats how everyone else does it.There is no MAGIC formula, its just wait & be ready to BIN when items are available:)

Another thing, as an occasional seller...IF I had a buyer that BINd all of my items everytime I list them,I think Id give them a heads up everytime I was going to list!

To a seller it doesnt get better than that.Remember the seller sets the BINs at what SHE wants:) So I doubt it upsets Kendelldew that another seller is scooping up her items. Thats a sellers dream LOL! AT least to me it would be:)

I havent posted a pic of my bracelet in a while, but it has been recently "tweaked" & I took some beads out to give it a bit more movement & I finally decided to add muranos as well(it was all 2 tone without glass). Im inspired AGAIN after looking at al the new additions here! Maybe Ill go for some pink beads next...

Lovely bracelets ladies:)

aww, im not feeling those heart muranos either... kind of disappointing. maybe they will be better in person?

quick question for you all- I noticed in the back of the new catalog (with the bracelet on the front) that it mentions something about stretching of the bracelet not being a manufacturing defect.... has anyone had their bracelet stretch?? I haven't experienced this yet buy I'm hoping mine won't since I bought them pretty loose as it is! If you have one that stretched-- how much longer did it get?? It doesn't seem like they could stretch much??

We know it's not 'technically' unfair, and we understand that people sell on ebay to make a profit:rolleyes:... it's just a bummer to have one person snatch up all of your favorite sellers items the second they get listed, when theyre only purchasing to resell for profit. I get what you're saying, but we're still allowed to be mad about it, since people like that make it harder for us to score deals. Buying out someone's inventory to resell at a mark up is not the same as reselling a few personal beads and making a profit IMO. I just think it's uncool and personally won't be buying from that reseller for that reason.

The problem with the 'favorite sellers' list is that there are only options to be contacted weekly or monthly when they list new items. Getting a once weekly email doesnt help when the sellers items get snatched up the minute they're listed. Some people here are checking this sellers ebay page multiple times a day for new listings, so you can see why we don't like it.

I haven't had any personal experience with this (and I hope I never do!), but I have heard of the bracelets stretching as much as half an inch. I'm wonder if it does have to do with the tightness of the bracelet? Could it also be the weight of the beads on a full bracelet along with gravity that force the stretching?

It makes me mad too, but more in a frustrated kind of way. If I had the chance to snap up every bead I wanted without giving anyone else a chance you'd better believe I would. If I was a powerseller, you can also bet I'd do exactly what this other seller did, and buy as many as I could for resale. You find your profit where you can. There isn't anything dishonest or dishonorable about it. It's like a jobber who buys all the overstock or discontinued merchandise from different manufacturers and/or retailers.

Do any of you shop at Odd Lots? It's the same thing.

I would have no problem buying any of mamsgrammy's items provided they were listed at a good price. It sounds like they're not, but that isn't surprising considering the original cost to her, and the profit eBay and paypal takes. But in that case, it's really just a matter of buyer beware right? Why would I buy from mamsgrammy when I know eventually I will get another chance at kendalldew or some other seller who sells at lower prices. My not buying from her has nothing to do with the fact that she was lucky enough, and quick enough to snatch up all the beads before any of us knew what was happening.

Also, this isn't the first time I've seen her buy kendalldew's entire lot. If it really bothered kendalldew she would block her as a buyer. But come on, it's got to be easier for her to ship to one buyer rather then dozens!

I think we tend to think of these sellers as our friends after a while. How could they possibly do this to us? Why wouldn't they give us first shot at their beads? Please, they are in it to make money. That's why they're doing this. I can't imagine it's for fun.
