Hi everyone - I have been following this thread with interest.
Thought you might like to know that I make my own range of individual handcrafted one off NOT mass produced beads suitable for TROll bracelets.I have been a glass artist for 3 years now and specialise in Silver core work and pendants all exclusive to me - I only sell through my web site and at Craft Fairs so you wont see my beads anywhere else.
Not sure if i am aloud to post a link but my web site is MANGOBEADS follow the links to BUDDIES . I am having my site redone so it will become more user friendly very soon . I have a gallery of all the beads I have made . I am passionate about what I do - I work full time from home . I hope you like what you see and thank you for takingthe time to read this post

To all of you with these bracelets...how full do you make them? I have about an inch of "chain" remaining, probably enough room for one more bead. But I am afraid that the bracelet will get stiff and unflexible if I fill it up. What do you think?

Hi,

I have received my no-name bracelet and I find it ok, but I'm not crazy about it, I think I should have waited instead for an original troll bracelet chain.

It's a regular "snake" style chain, but I find too shiny silver is not looking good on my "snow white" skin... I should have been patient and wait for the chain that makes my heart beats, well too bad. But the stoppers are cute, they are thin disk but I like the design on it.

As I don't know if it's ok to post companies links, other than pandora brand here, you can pm me if would like to know the source of the inexpensive beads ... They are kind of small about 7X8mm or so, I was under the impression brand name beads (silver) were bigger in size?

Julie
P.S. Me too I want to know if allowed to present my big o'le glass beads here when they are ready to show off their belly (should be very soon) ... still don't know if to start with Ebay or Etsy ... I'm a Libra, so every decision = struggles!!!!

My bracelet is totally full. There isn't even enough room for a spacer, much less another bead. It's definitely a little stiff, and is sometimes hard to get on if the beads aren't "just so" - my advice would be to try another bead, maybe a small one, and leave a teeny tiny bit of chain!

Bonjour,

Just a little note to let you know I've put my first large hole bead on Ebay. If some would like to see it you can find it by typing ABL in the search box.

You are welcome to let me know if you like the colors combo. I think I was inspired by the feeling of wanting to see Green all around (too much snow here) because I keep working on florals since 2 weeks! And all week at work I dream of the next one I'll be making !

In my experimentation, I've found that 2 tones petals looks very cool. On that type of thin bead I find it's quite a challenge!

Let me know what you think,
Cheers,
Julie

I ran to my jewelry store yesterday to get a few new beads. The sign said that on March 3rd, all Troll prices increase by 20% and then the 17th for all Pandora.

A 20% increase is so insane. I realize that silver is at its highest its ever been, but out of curiosity yesterday, I weighed one of my beads and going by the price index online, its only $6 worth of silver but it was a $34 bead and as of tomorrow will be a $41 bead.

Now I know that you have to take into consideration the design of it and what that costs, the price to have it manufactured and room for profit, but still, the prices are going to be over the top now. I think I will have to reign in my Troll addiction:tdown:

BagsAreMyBabies, where do you shop in Phoenix for Troll and Pandora? I'm in the Phoenix metro area but haven't found any shops around me that carry either brand and I'd love to see them INR.

Are you talking about the Carmine bead? If so, it's very pretty. However, 8x10 is really small for a SRA bead. Most are around 8x16. You aren't silver-lining the beads yet? The competition on eBay is pretty good...take a look at nelliemaelampwork and EagleBay and 5FishDesigns. They are the top notch beadists that get top dollar. You might want to see how they do so you can gauge your product/pricing.

Good luck!

Hi SoonerorLater,

Yes it's the Carmine bead ...

Thanks so much for taking time to give me your input ! Timming is really good, 'cause this morning I was wondering about the height of the bead problably being too small ... and I just discovered minutes ago the work of Nelliemae, just before reading your message. Wow! I'll refer to the other names also to see the height size ...

Sizing is really my greatest challenge, up to now I make them too small or something goes out of control and make them too big ... ah là là ! hihihi  ... Well life is PPP (practice X3) so that's what I'll be doing in the meantime that I'm still raising the money to get the machine for silver-lining! (with shipping and Customs to Canada it's going to be over 500$ investment), but the goal is approaching slowly ...

Thanks again for your generosity & sharing your knowledge,
ciao,
Julie

Just a reminder to everyone who is collecting Pandora beads or any type of silver/gold beads. The cost adds up quickly. I figured that my current configuration of my bracelet is $800. So I contacted my State Farm agent today and asked how I could get coverage. They suggested that I inventory my collection (200 beads and counting) and provide them with a list of all the beads, etc that I own with the current prices (good timing with prices increases just hitting). They would then add it to my personal articles policy so that if I lost a bracelet or my home was broken into and my entire collection gets stolen, I could simply go back out and replace it all.

Word of advice: Do NOT add it to your homeowners. There is a limit to the coverage for jewelry and there is a hefty deductible. And it will not cover all perils (lost, broken, etc). You need a separate policy for your jewelry.

Protect your beads!!!!

Sounds like me... when I moved to Australia for two months I insisted on getting travel insurance... not so much worried about the health benefits should I need them or my laptop going missing... the point of it was to make sure that I had coverage for my bracelet! Other than the laptop it was the most valuable thing I took over there and I was so nervous that something could happen to it! In fact something did happen to it... it got filled up with more beads :P

I started buying Pandora about 3 months ago, and I love it so much that I already have 5 full bracelets, 2 necklaces, and several loose beads! I was buying other brands like Chamilia and Biagi, but decided that Pandora beads have the best quality. I have been trying to find all the retired beads. I have been able to find all of them (for reasonable prices) except the turquoise pearl dangle (79339 TP). I only found one site that has one (literally one), and they are charging $399!!! Does anyone know a website where I can find one for under $100???

I have a question for Charmqueen. What happened to the lobster-claw style necklaces from Pandora? I HATE that dumb bead latch especially since the clip areas on the necklace with the bead require that ugly bead to show. I love my lobster claw necklace where I can have the clip areas show and the lobster claw is in the back .... it is SO easy to take on and off.

I see them still on your pandora-beads.com website but NOT on the Pandora site.
