And by the way I'm currently feeling stink about my bracelet... I've come to the conclusion that its actually too big. I really need the 20cm, 1cm more than the 19cm I started with and one less than what I have now. I haven't worn the new bracelet, but I feel awkard taking it back to the original shop and its 50 minutes train journey anyway. I'm trying to find a shop in town that will swap it but most don't want to. Arrrrrgh!

Oh, I'm so sorry that your bracelet is too big. You most likely need the 7.9 which was between the 7.5 you had and this new one. It's a matter of taste on how tight you like your bracelet. (ooops, English system..sorry)

You shouldn't feel awkward taking it back for an exchange to the original store. However, if a closer store bawks, you might (if you can) offer to buy a bead from them for the trouble. And do show them your receipt to prove you have had it only for a short time.

I wonder if there is a difference how the Pandora and TB fits due to the thickness of the bracelet. I'll have to keep that in mind when I get a Pandora bracelet.

I just heard that Pandora is redoing their trunk shows in the US. The last one was fantastic. You could get a free bracelet with the purchase of 2 clips. They also had buy 4 get 1 free beads. That seems to have been changed this year to quarterly promotions (instead of May-Dec shows) and the free stuff may be as simple as T-shirts or travel boxes. Uk! I'm very disappointed that Pandora has chosen this route. Their last trunk show got me into the Pandora mood. I have a lot of Trollbeads too, but I was really wanting to get more silver/gold beads that TB lacks.

Maybe someone else has some good "insider" news, but it seems they are leaning away from giving free beads. If they do this, I can see the frenzy over their trunks shows turning into a whisper.

My jeweler started carrying Pandora. When I completed my bracelet, which I didn't start with him, he gave me the box that Kat has. It's very nice for use at home. Kat, do you use it for travel? I bought one of the black velvet zip bags that have two compartments. They are supposed to prevent the silver from tarnishing. I'm finding it a good travel bag, too.
I don't use the box when traveling. I use a jewelry roll. I'm not familiar with the velvet zip bags. Did you pay it at the jewelry store? My bracelets don't seem to be tarnishing too badly being stored in the box. I think I remember DH telling me the jeweler said the box is treated with something to help prevent tarnishing. Were you told that too?:confused1:

Beautiful bracelets, Kat! I hope to get some beads for a black and white bracelet eventually.

That is exactly the box I have. It's very small and the trays are shallow. I realize that it's a Pandora box and not meant to hold larger beads by SRA artists, but it only holds 33 beads (a bit more if you double-up with silver beads in the small compartments) and 3 bracelets. The bottom tray has 3 compartments for things like additional chains and matching earrings, etc.

I have close to 100 beads already and I'm sure that I'll reach 200 by the end of the year. I tried to approach my bracelet-making by creating them and leaving them alone but it isn't working as I planned. I buy Trollbeads and Pandora and the selection from other artists is mind-blowing. So I create my bracelet every night according to what I plan to wear.

So I need something that will carry about 200 beads and various necklaces and bracelets. The Pandora Travel box is nice but it really won't hold a bead-aholics compulsion!

I'm strongly considering the following for just my silver beads....does anyone have this box?

I wonder if it will keep the silver from having to be cleaned?
Wow! You have an impressive collection! The pic you posted looks like it will work great. I'm not familiar with it, so I don't know if it will prevent tarnishing. I'll keep my eye out for ya. Maybe I'll come across something that will suit your needs.

Thanks! Bead collecting is my latest obsession. I love jewelry anyway and I'm a huge sucker for color. I have found great bead artists in the US, Australia and The Netherlands. And, I'm on Etsy and Ebay daily. After seeing the glorious glass beads that are out there, it's so hard to resist! I actually counted after I posted before, and I have 113 beads. And, I have only been collecting since Thanksgiving. Wow, I need to take some time off before I blow my budget! And, I was so wanting more silver/gold Pandora beads.... My family thinks I'm nuts....

I went to a different mall today and the Pandora seller there exchanged my bracelet no questions asked! I also got a safety chain :)

The size is PERFECT! Seriously, I am so, so, so thrilled! I can't believe a third of an inch either way can make such a difference. Talk about stressful but its all sorted now :) They even gave me a bracelet-sized box to keep it in! That was the best Pandora stockist I've been to (and believe me, I've been to a lot!) More than half the entire store was dedicated to Pandora, they knew what they were talking about and they had lots of made-up bracelets... that's the way to sell them!

Here's my awesome completely-completed bracelet :D (Unfortunately I had trouble getting a clear pic :P)

I have absolutely nothing to do tonight so am stalking Pandora websites. Just a heads up that on the official US site they've updated the section showing bracelets given to Glamour Mag's Women of the Year winners to the new bracelets for 2007... some quite interesting choices :)

I particularly like the one given to Abigail Breslin (below).

And to Charmqueen... I LOVE the new sample bracelets on your website :D

I like to keep the Pandora separate from the rest of my jewelry and this seems like any easy way to do it. My jeweler didn't have this, so I ordered it. He gave me the purple case. Now, I'm waiting for that new tool that makes opening the bead lock and clips an easier task.
Thanks for the link. I might have to get the new tool too. What I've been doing is just forcing the bracelets on my wrist without opening them up. It's real tight so I know I'm going to break them one of these days.

Yay! I'm glad you got that taken care of! And, the bracelet is beautiful! :woohoo:

I don't know if its what is coming out in the states, but here in Australia they're selling just such a tool.... I wouldn't get too excited. Mainly, because its $50 - so cheaper in the States but still pretty expensive for what it is used for. What they're selling is silver with an intricate flower pattern with pink CZ's in it on a leather lanyard.

How I view this is that they are trying to make more money off a badly designed locking system. You should NOT need a tool to open or close a latch. They should be giving it away free IMHO. Instead they are trying to market it as an accessory to attach to your cell phone. Ok...first of all, who takes off their necklace/bracelet while out and about? Secondly, a guitar pick (suggested by another person) works just as well.

So, let me get this straight....if you are mugged...and the thief cannot get your bracelet off, you hand him your cell phone and say "Hey, use this!"

I love Pandora but this marketing ploy aggravates me.

Does anyone have experience with the Chamilia beads and bracelets as compared to Pandora? I've never seen either in real life, I like both, and am trying to decide which to go with. Any advice would be appreciated, ladies. I love this thread and love seeing all the beautiful bracelets everyone has designed!

Thanks!
