They are so much fun! I bought my first a couple of years ago. I had never heard of them, then saw someone mention them on the QVC forums and wondered what they were. I was sold as soon as I saw them. I used to get most of my beads on eBay, but these days, I buy more on etsy. I also got a fabulous box there made from a cigar box to store my beads in.

What seller makes the boxes? I need something like that for storage.

I also have a 4 year old daughter I wanted to start a bracelet for but wasn't sure if I should get the 16cm one- which would still be a little big for her now.

Option 2 was to go average size 19cm and add one special charm each year to represent something special from the year and give her it for her 16th or 18th birthday.
Does this sound Stupid???? Has anyone else started one for a younger child??

Welcome to the addiction!

Not stupid at all Lady! I think it is a lovely gift for a little girl.

My Step Daughter is 6 and she wears a 17 cm which is full and fits her perfectly. Hopefully it will stretch a bit like mine did as she grows. I did get it with the plan of getting only a couple every year and giving it to her for her 13th birthday but I have the bug and it was finished after a couple of years. DH said give it to her now so she can get some wear out of it.

She thought it was terrible not being able to wear it to school yesterday (first day back here) as she has worn it nearly everyday since Christmas. Her wrists are bigger than mine now.

She now wants to start a necklace which is fine by me. All going well she will be a big sister late this year so I think it will be her "big sister present" with a relevant charm on it from the baby. I was even thinking if I had a girl I would start one very soon for her. So see you are NOT CRAZY but do you think that is? I mean it it not exactly a baby bracelet...... :confused1:

Would love to see your creation!

One of my DH staff has a birthday today. She is lovely and has a Pandora, so I got a "fix" yesterday even if it wasn't for me. (CAN YOU BELIEVE I DIDN'T GET MYSELF ANYTHING?! :wtf: NOT EVEN ON LAYBUY!!) My money that I would of spent on myself went to the fire appeal - so I should just shut up and stop sounding like I am whinging. 181 dead so far :crybaby:

She has a pink themed bracelet so this is what I got her. I hope she likes it!

Sorry I haven't posted pictures of my necklace - technical issues! :cursing:

Lorna278 what did you end up deciding???

Hi Pandoraholic,

I started a bracelet for my daughter at age 4 (she's now 5). We are a family formed through adoption. So each year on our "familversary", I add a bead to her bracelet. For the first 4 years, I selected the beads. This year, we went to the store together and I let her pick out the bead. She loves it. I do insist that the bracelet resides in my jewelry box, not hers and it's only worn on special days.

Ok, I like the idea of some "seasonal" aspect to a bracelet. Meaning, I think it'd be fun to wear a Shamrock for St. Patty's, a pumpkin for Halloween....you get the idea. My budget doesn't allow me to create multiple bracelets, though hopefull some day I will have more :)

Currently my bracelet is full with two tone beads. I have all the "meaningfull" beads and spacers the way I want and then I have 3 "decorative beads" equally spaced on it. I'm thinking it'd be fun to add some seasonal sets or even just one seasonal bead centered. Does anyone else do this?

My sister is doing the same thing. She has one complete bracelet that she'll probably leave alone, but she also has a Chamilia bangle that she switches out the beads on. For the Super Bowl, she created a bracelet with a football charm, a helmet charm and four glass beads (one red bead and one white bead for the Cardinals, and one yellow bead one black bead for the Steelers) and a few spacers. She wore them centered on the bangle, but she could have done the same thing with a Pandora bracelet with a couple of clips. She also has a St. Patrick's Day theme, a "Winter" theme, a 4th of July theme all with just enough beads that fit in the center of her bangle.

Hi

Thanx soooo much for your response- It's GREAT to chat with someone else that shares the enthusiasm for my new HOBBY- LOL
CAN PANDORA BE CLASSED AS A HOBBY????:yahoo:
I am swinging towards getting her a smaller one in SS and getting a bigger one when she's older. I will prob only let her wear a few charms at a time and store the others in one of the beautiful Pandora Travel Jewellery boxes- this has anti tarnish chemicals so should store well till she's old enough to wear and NOT lose them- I'd be heart broken!!!!

I certainly don't think it's silly to buy for your new addition- if baby is a GIRL!!! CONGRATULATIONS by the way:woohoo: will this be baby number 2??? I have a 2 yr old boy as well and even he picks his Favorite beads on my bracelet!!! LOL he often tells me " I Like your PANDORA mummy" now that's bad when even a 2 yr old is talking about it!

BTW LOVE the PINK pearl bead I have a 2 tone and Pink bracelet but not seen this one before.

I just added up the cost of my Pandora bracelet (1 away from being full). It's over $500 and they are all silver except one with a touch of gold (the heart and key). HOLY CRAP!

The only good thing is I started it a year ago so at least it's not all at once. I just started a Troll bracelet now too.

Very good idea having it stored in your Jewelry box and not in hers. What size bracelet does your daughter have??? Which beads does she have?

Would Love to see a picture of it and Golden Touch would LOVE to see your daughters to. In fact the more PANDORA pictures the better.

Does anyone have a Pink, 2 tone Pandora Bracelet??? I'd LOVE to see a pic of.

I'll try and get a pic on here of my working progress soon- now where is my camera???!!!!

Welcome Pandoraholic.
Its a fun addiction thats for sure. I am a bad one for collecting beads.
Just found out a new shop opened in Exhibition Street in Melbourne, right next to were hubby works. (I feel sorry for him already) The lady in store said traffic is slow at the moment. It has been open 3 days but was assured that the new beads coming will make all the difference to sales. She said that they are going to be released to shop owners on the 24th February. So by the 25th I hope we have all the pics here. Unless we can con CHARMQUEEN to give us a sneek peek. Pleasssssssse
