I overheard there’s a back room where you are taken…..so you won’t be overheard…. :yes: :nuts::lol:

You heard right, there is, but it's often occupied.

And that's mostly for bags. At NBS, customers eye everything another customer holds whether it's a belt kit, a twilly or CDC. I've seen a fight break-out over a belt. I was taken to the back to pick-up my Evie FFS.

Same thing at Cadogan Place... I wish they had a private room there!

Sounds like the origin story to the Della Cavalleria movie short. :giggle:

On the topic of back rooms…

Even if you get an offer in one of them in private, when you come out with your SA and bag box to go to the register, other people in the store can stop and point at the box and say to your SA “is that a Birkin? I would take one of those”. Yes this has happened to me, multiple times even, and I’m willing to bet that I’m far from the only one. (Aside, both times it happened with me it was actually a Kelly so technically no, it wasn’t a Birkin  )

This of course pales in comparison to someone who was offered a B30, begrudgingly took it (she wanted 25 like everyone nowadays even though she told her SA “I’d take any size”), then while paying saw another client go into the back room with a smaller box (a B25), angrily opening the back room door and saying “I want that one instead! Why don’t you give that to me?”. I didn’t directly witness this incident but it happened at my store.

I did, sadly, witness / overhear incidents of someone shouting / berating / calling SA names in the middle of the store for not getting a bag. And the bonus variant where they were doing it in a foreign language, in which case it went on for way too long before the SM caught on and reacted. And an extension of this, once I was in store chatting with my SA and a new SA who was hired recently, the new SA mentioned she experienced crying because of a client for the first time. My SA half jokingly half sadly consoled her with “congrats on unlocking an achievement, it’s ok, you will get used it”.

Who would ever want those appalling scaled-down B25? Honestly, the handles are too short, you cannot even slide them up your arm...What can you carry in those? It's a complete anti-thesis to a real tote-bag - as Birkin bag was meant to be. Who likes those mini-things anyway? Such a caricature of a real B35
You have no idea. They fight to have them. It's an internationale crusade through the Hermes boutiques :lol:

I would use it as a fancy paper weight but that’s just me. Sometimes a cheval de samarcande isn’t enough.

The only mildly interesting thing I’ve overheard was a more mature lady holding a beautiful croc Kelly with a MASSIVE slash through the front of it. She was telling the poor SA that H must repair her bag, her jealous boyfriend had cut it deliberately in a fit of rage! The SA was trying to explain that it couldn’t be repaired but she was having none of it and said she would take it directly to Paris then as they wouldn’t help her. It made for an interesting wait!

I thought someone was going to tackle me for a SS22 cardigan I was trying on last week

This broke my heart !!!! I always have the thought that if someone hates me , they will heart my bags !!! I hope H can replace the front panel for her .

So this proves that where ever you are , people will still act the same ! I love this tread , it made me realize that I visit the store quit often :noworry: and I might have a problem  .

Once I was offered an ostrich k25 ( the one in the avatar ) and was asked to come to the fitting room to view it because the store was crowded and 2 ladies asked for bags and they said to them we don't have stock . Our store is small with no vip room . They saw us go into room with a box and they where on the other end of the door eavesdropping. When I came out of with a smile on my face and on my way to pay a lady started shouting and asking what bag was I offered and why was it not out in public " what are you hiding !!" she said and added " OR are the bags only offered to people you like !! WE ARE going to PAY as well ! with our hard earned cash ! .

On another day with another client , she commented on that same bag and asked " where did that customer get her bag from then if you said we don't have stock at the moment !! " they replaced " She was on a waiting list !!" so the lady said " you say she was on a waiting list ! muuuuufffff no she paid you to get that bag !!! Are you saying my money is not as good as hers !!! or you only offer to people you know !!! it works this way right ! I am going to pay for it !! you are not donating it to me !! it is just a bag why do you do this !!!"

When I shopped at Madison for that brief year before officially switching to Meatpacking, I used to hear demands (most common “I bought this bag from you x-week(s) ago. My friends here want one too. I’m an important client. Get them one.”) and see clients imperiously glide down the staircase with SAs trailing behind, shoppings bags hanging on each arm.

Nowadays I’m almost a little too comfortable at the more relaxed MP location. I’ve left my B25 unattended once or twice, and one time my SA had to grab it quickly as another client was making a beeline for it.

For viewing/unboxing privacy, my SA and I tend to hide in the fitting rooms if no other private area is available.

My SA did tell me sometime ago they had a VIP-ish client walk out with a $300 silk. The client figured that since they bought x-amount that day, H could spare a free silk. The client was stopped in the street and did pay for the silk in the end.

The stuff I've overheard is pretty tame - just inquiries to other SA's about the size of the bag I'm carrying, or the shoes I'm wearing, etc.

I'm amazed by some of these stories. The audacity of some people. I have yet to witness/overhear anything like that during my visits. Maybe that just means I need to go in more often....

They sometimes take you into the ground floor, side room, the SLG counter is not too visible, or if it's not too busy, close the screens to the RTW, you have to ask though.
That would have been nice haha. It felt so awkward having someone badger me about paying 10% more to take the bag off me and querying why I was offered the bag in the first place.
