Probably because rude customers move the bags around to different shelves, or just say they “found” a delete at a 70% off shelf and demand that price. I’ve seen this before and I’m not sure whether the cashier/managers caved (bc I left after paying quickly), but it caused a whole scene and like 3 employees were trying to calm this dumb woman down who just couldn’t be reasoned with.

I’ve seen this happen too, and think it’s probably a big part of why they do it. It still makes no sense though. Just sell the bags at 70% off. They’d probably still come out ahead over spending so much labor cost trying to do it the hard way.

Off to the next outlet. This one the cashier gave me "an extra discount because I bought all retail." I'll take it. Not as good as the 20% email, but no complaints.
