Would like to update that my 4 Hermes Ostrich bags have not really aged at all. I think they take some colours well, are light, durable and look new for years. To be fair, I am not hard on my bags and I do avoid getting oil, lotions and water on them.

How are they holding up colour-wise? I ask because I have heard that it is more susceptible to fading caused by sunlight than other leathers, and I have seem some very faded ostrich Kellys locally - the Australian sun is pretty harsh. I would love ostrich in tangerine (if it ever comes back) but fear severe fading if I were to use it as a day bag.

I’m thinking about a bag in mousse colored Ostrich. If anyone can point me to any pictures, I would be grateful. Would you say mousse is between grey and brown (more taupe) or a light brown? I love etain but not so much etoupe…
I have a vintage Mousse bag. I LOOOOOVE the color.

ETA: This bag is from 1999. To be fair, I haven't used it much and am usually fairly careful (but not crazy) with my bags.

I don’t have an H ostrich, although I Will one day, but I DO own ostrich(Laurus, have owned ostrich bags and shoes before, it ages beautifully and is really hardwearing-although I carry crocodile on a daily basis my ostrich bag is currently my favourite bag-id highly recommend it..
I took the bag as soon as I heard it's in Gris T! Been loving it ever since and now I want more ostrich... The leather is beautiful in person. It really should get more love

So far so good, I don't keep them in any sunlight but also perhaps because the colours aren't as light? My bags are Violine, Rouge Vif, Rose Pourpre and Gris Agate. Tangerine is pretty!

I *believe* my agenda posted above is actually tangerine and not ostrich. It was so long ago that I bought it I'm not sure I still have the receipt. In any case you can see that it's darkened considerably from hand contact vs. faded....

If I saw this in person I'd be paralyzed with indecision...pet it or take a picture...what a virtuosic display of savoir faire and exquisite taste! If a bag could propose to me I'd say yes, yes, and once more, yes, if this was the culprit!

I was not in loved with Ostrich until I met my B30 Gris Agate Ostrich.
The Ostrich leather is surprisingly not easy to be scratched and scratches are not as noticeable as Swift, BoxClaf, etc.
It holds structure remarkably well, especially in B30. It is water resistance. Being an exotic, it doesn't need to be as pampered as my Alligator.
So, will I buy another ostrich again? Yes ! I got an offer for a mini Roulis between Nata Ostrich and Mimosa Matt Alligator recently and I thought I would take the Mimosa as I had been waiting for a Matt Croco bag for a long time, but I finally selected the Nata Ostrich when I see both bags in person. It tells how beautiful it is!
