Oroton, anyone?

UPDATE: Oroton has a new Creative Director Sophie Holt. She has absolutely revitalised the brand. It was becoming every stale, conservative and matronly brand which was about to go out of business a couple of years ago.

Now it’s back with a bang! Sophie has brought out some beautiful classic pieces that feel so fresh. I love their use of natural smooth leather, croc embossed designs and scarf prints.

I love smooth finish leathers i usually have to look to Bottega Veneta or Celine for this, but I think these Oroton ones are just as beautiful.

Oroton has a nice bumbag/fanny pack bag called Arena waist bag.

This Oroton Arena bag is on my Wishlist. I love the beautiful tan colour and smooth leather. It has a very high end look but not as ridiculously overpriced.

My favourite from the new creative director is the Oroton Icon frame clutch bag. It comes with a top handle and removable chain crossbody strap. It has an elegant vintage vibe and can be used for day or night, so chic!

Ahhh Oroton... I used to be a huge fan of the brand and have bought a dozen of their bags and wallets for mum and myself during my uni days. I also have a bunch of their umbrellas, folios and metal card cases. The quality was great and the design was feminine, elegant and distinctively Oroton. They were super durable and lasted forever. But when they started hiking up the prices, I slowly moved away from Orton onto international designers.

I am not a fan of the new designs, many of the bags on their website now just reminds me of other brands - the frame clutch for example is screaming Celine clasp...

I remember the Oroton GloMesh bags of the 1960's. They were the height of fashion here in Perth, Western Australia.

Feels like we are 5 years behind the eastern states and 10 years behind the rest of the world, here. Which kind of explains my fondness for slightly older styles like the Kiera. Very feminine, plain and simple. As Cubey says: feminine, elegant and distinctively Oroton.

Not all that fussed on these newer designs.

The Oroton Kiera is one of the most alluring handbags I have seen. Still see them around here in Perth, Western Australia. Very feminine and just the right size.

Being so close to South East Asia, we are flooded with knockoffs here. I pretty sure I can spot the difference in the Kiera now. Red colour has to be just right, this red is very close to perfect:

Little bit ridiculous but when discussing Celine bags (namely the Belt Bag v Triomphe box bag) with a friend, he said the belt bag looked "cheap" and that "you could get something like that from Oroton". I know that'd offend so many Phoebe Philo lovers. So, I had to check out what he meant by that.

Oroton had always been matronly in my head and last I heard, they had Rose Byrne for their ad campaigns and even used influencers like Lily Maymac (not believable that she'd actually carry an Oroton bag). I'll admit, the new Oroton reminds me of the old Celine.

Not after a bag at the moment, but I did buy some SLGs on discount online. I just wanted something to keep my keys and coins in.
