I love your hobo! It is gorgeous. However, be very light if you use the Oroton leather cleaner! I used the cleaner on my Victoria Tote in Cream and the cleaner lifted the colour off, but it works great on pen marks lol. I think your bag will be very durable because it looks like the leather is very thick in that style. As long as you love your bag it will always be worth it!

I'll try and show you a difference in the good and bad leather.

01 - Entourage Tote in Fuchsia. This pebble grain is durable, and is holding up well. Happily bought on Ebay because I still won't pay $295 for a bag that has no lining.

02 - Essentials Medium Tote (used to be known as the double handed tote). I bought this from the Oroton Outlet last year. The bag also has a pebble grain. However, the pebble grain is of lesser quality, and you can see different panels of the bag have different pebble textures. I was told by my SA that the Outlet bags are so cheap is because they haven't passed quality control.

03 - Romance Zip Top. This bag is 8 years old! And the leather is just as durable and beautiful as it was when I first bought it... and shamefully, I never even conditioned the bag. This is Oroton's lasting quality and why I'll never stop shopping there.

04 - Kiera B Hobo. This hobo is my Mum's and is kinda banged up (her Christmas present from me in 2008) but shows the old smooshy leather.

I lurve your little collection especially tote in fuchsia with bag charm on it!
I can see the zip top very good condition if not excellent. Since you didn't condition the bag would you do it if you can go back in time? SA told me about the conditioner and leather cleaner but in the excitement getting new shoe and bag charm too I totally forgot to purchase it.

My computer ate my original reply :(

Thank you so much for the compliment! I love getting matching charms for bags.

As for conditioning my bags, I definitely would go back and do it! However, the quality of some of the Oroton bags is just so divine, you can get away with not doing it for a while. Still, you don't spend a chunk of your money for nothing so I'd go back and grab a bottle if you can. I hope you enjoy your bag because Oroton is so worth it.

Yep will do ASAP. Thanks for the suggestion :D

Oops! I just bought the Keira B Hobo in Tan ($495) on sale (60%off) two days ago. Seems to be a bargain for the quality and style. It has a soft, buttery, pebbled texture that feels expensive but delicate. I do hope it lasts. It has been described (on ebay) as made of Nappa leather which is known to be of really good quality. I have read in many sites and blogs that leather should be cared for (conditioned, water/stain resistant treated etc.) to really keep its beauty.

Also, I have a Coach Julia leather hobo (light golden color so it's prone to nature's attacks)... soft pebbled leather, and an Italian leather boots (tan). I haven't treated any of them with anything. I've got some water droplet stains on my boots. :( don't want my bags to have the same fate.

Any tips on how to look after Nappa leather goods and other leather items? Thanks. (yey! my first post!)

So got a beauty there and we have similar bag charm! Love it!!
Oroton boutique or outlet do sell the leather conditioner and the stain resistant spray. As SA told me it can be used on other brand such as LV as well. They will give the right advice on how to treated the bag. Btw I still haven't get myself one!

Thank you for the tip. :) oh yes, the charm. it's lovely isn't it? I love the bag... and despite all the love I managed to get it scratched a little... with my long nails :( grrrr... something we leather bag lovers should note...

Will visit an Oroton shop this weekend to get the care kit. i believe that the bag is already water resistant because when I took it out the night before, it was raining and I did not see any sign of water droplets on it the next day. but I'd still get the care kit to be sure than sorry. better get yours protected too.:smile1:

cheers...

I know... sale prices are fantastic. I got two leather wallets (red for myself and tan mom-in-law) last year with discount as well. what a joy to have these amazing and great quality products at prices that don't hurt the pocket. I'm lovin' it. they look as good as brand new.

So far I am happy with my purchased. I got myself 2 leather shoes as well and it is so comfortable. But when I was in overseas the price is higher than here. I feel truly lucky to get good leather at price that won't making hole on my purse.

Totally agree! I've been eying LV bags (Damier speedy 30, Papillon 30 and Eva clutch) before and planning to save for it but realized I could buy 3-5 really good stuff (bag, shoes, wallet etc.) from Oroton for just $1000.

Where else (countries) is Oroton available at retail level? You mentioned it's more expensive overseas... Cheers :)

PS- I'll get the shoes next. I can't wear uncomfortable shoes no matter how pretty they are... LOL

Gals, I was wondering if you can offer your honest opinion regarding the Oroton Kiera Hobo (Tan) bag I posted on April 3. The bottom (both sides) has a very obvious fold due to the bag not keeping it's shape... it seems it's due to the very soft leather. Does it look bad or old (bought it two days before the pic was taken)? Any tips to make it less visible?

Thanks heaps. :)

And... Happy Easter everyone!!!!

The slouchy looks make it less obvious ( as if it is part of the total look). For me it doesn't look bad but then I don't have the bag so I am no expert.
Try hanging the bag instead of putting it down with purse or something inside it.

Luvleeness - how is your bag now?
I bought my Oroton kiera b hobo in april - I was so happy. I cleaned it every week carefully and treated it like a baby... virtually never put it down, screamed at my husband if he got too close to it. So I was super disappointed to notice damage, slight scratches and small cracks in the leather after only a month - my bag also got the slouchyness. I cried though when I noticed an actual 'graze' in the leather, it started very slowly but got worse after a week, very noticable, so I stopped using it, worried I was making it worse. Has anyone had this?
I love the bag so I took it back into the store, and I am waiting to hear now what they are going to do about it. At this stage I am thinking it will be the first and last Oroton bag I will buy, I am so disappointed.
