Opinions on matching wallets w/your COACH bag..

Wallets are too expensive to match all your bags. I use my Gucci wallet for all my bags. Also it is too much work to keep switching.

As for matching bags and matching wallets... I HATE IT!

IMHO it makes the bag and wallet BLEED together... I like things to Coordinate... no match! I never match, everything is always coordinated for me!

I agree with the others- changing wallets is a huge pain!

I don't like to be all matchy-poo either. A nice neutral color wallet will go fine with every bag.

I like to match wallets but when I don't feel like changing wallets I have a Hamptons all black checkbook size wallet that goes with everything. I know it's expensive so I try to get them for under $100 or not at all. Once I paid $150 for the bleecker clutch coal/khaki wallet and regretted it because now they're $75.
edit: I forgot to add which matches I have. I matched the wallet exactly to the bag on the following:
raisin leigh/matching legacy raisin wallet & matching legacy wristlet
black Chelsea Abbey has black Chelsea wallet and chelsea wristlet that matches but I wish they were laced to match exactly.
My whiskey Gigi has matching legacy whiskey wristlet and I am planning on getting the matching wallet
I have two more black wallets that match my other black bags but not exact matches.
I have not attempted to match my gardenia leigh with a wallet.
I have a checkbook sized chocolate wallet that matches exactly my chocolate ergo

I have a dior wallet, it's a birthday present from my bf, it's gorgeous i love it, but the white leather make me paranoid all the time. That's when things go wrong and i decided to get a new one. Just in time when i'm thinking about matching my bags & wallet.

After i read all of ur comment, then i guess i just have to buy a wallet that goes with everything. What do you guys think about this wallet ? I like it because it's very simple and roomy, and looks like it's easy to clean.. or not ? Or u have some suggestion about other wallet ? I would love to know from other coachies

I have legacy shoulder bag in whiskey, ergo white pebbled medium tote, and my upcoming bag is ergo pleated satchel in black and carly leather (haven't decided the color yet). TIA, i really appreciate all ur help, that's why i TPF & i coachies

I think it is WAY pricey and a large hassle to move credit cards, etc from one wallet to another every time you switch bags. I much prefer wristlets, capacity wristlets, card cases and mini skinnies! Plus they are a lot less expensive. Invest in a good wallet or two but then accessorize with other items so you don't have to spend $200 on a new wallet every time you get a bag!

I usually buy a few pieces that will work well with any of my bags. I love my wallet so I never want to change it anyway. I don't think you always need to match a bag to a wallet. Sometimes it looks like a bit much other times it looks nice. It depends I guess.

yay! i'm glad you decided to go w/what other ladies have said. seems like they steered you in the right direction. i like the one that you picked out. it looks like it would work well as a clutch. basically whatever is black, would go with anything.

however, on my own part, i broke the bank many times. so many matching sets!! yeah, i guess i could agree with many of those ladies that have commented on how they could purchase another purse with the amount of money spent on the wallet (geez, still don't have a good explaination why wallets are sometimes priced higher than the purse). I think i had 6 or 7 matching sets, and some with shoes too! LOL. i think i went over board a little bit. But now i just stick with mainly one wallet and don't really care about mixing and matching brands. It felt pretty important to me before....well, i wouldn't say important but just something i wanted to do.

I have only purchased 4 wallets to exactly match bags & only because they are special bags to me, other than that, I have basic brown & black.

I never match any of my accessories, including wallets. I like looking in my bag and seeing all of the different patterns and colors that I love. Plus, its a real pain to try and change out my wallet with each bag.

i use mini skinnies and wristlets instead of wallets so getting matching ones for my pouches is very affordable!

For me, I've been more picky as I buy more coach bags... if I get a new bag, I have to have some sort of accessory to match it, whether its a wallet, a mini skinny or a wristlet... I don't match my bags that are from the legacy collection for example to matching legacy accessories... as long as the colors match and the hardware goes w/my bag, then I'm happy with that. After buying a wallet for the first time from the outlet, now I want matching wallets for everything... I do love using wristets for wallets as well since they are less expensive and usually there are a lot more plain solid colors to choose from if you go with a wristlet...

I have one bleeker wallet, a few wristlets, and two mini skinnys that color coordinate w/pretty much all of my bags. This works for me!

It is all a matter of personal preference. I LOVE all the matching accessories....wallets, wristlets, scarfs, fobs, etc, etc, etc...LOL! I do it with more than my Coach bags...Bras, panties, suits with shoes for each etc. Personally I would rather have fewer full sets than more bags without the accessories, but that is just me. Do what you are financially comfortable with and what makes YOU happy!
