OMG...LV repair gone awry!!

What happened to you is unfortunate but it's not LV's fault this happened. The fact it went missing while FedEx had it was beyond their control. They are giving you a brand new wallet to replace your year-old one - it may not be the color you bought originally, but I can't see why they should have to compensate you for any more than the value of what you had stolen. I think what LV are offering you is fair.
Agree. Fedex will only cover depreciated cost (maybe 70% of what you paid?) up to a max of $500. LV is covering the balance, even though it wasn't their fault at all.

I'm really sorry this happened though.

I am sorry to hear about this, don't give up and ask the store manager again when you go in. I just sent one of my bags in for a repair and I hope they are not going to loose it.

I have runway pieces that I've had to have repaired, and they've never been lost, so I'd say this is the exception-not the norm-for LV. I tend to disagree, though, with some of the other ladies. I'd go further...If LV is going to cover the cost of your wallet up to its full purchase price for replacement, then I'd go to FedEx to get the difference, since it was stolen off of one of their trucks. Tell them that the item is no longer in production, and the cost of a new one differs by (enter amount). IMO, FedEx will be getting off too lightly, but at least you shouldn't have to come out of your pockets to pay for the replacement wallet. Good LUCK!

I don't think they need to give you more than what the wallet is worth. Try to make that crazy argument in court and see what happens.

Totally agree! I would go seek out Fedex. It's worth a shot. I'm not very impressed with LV's reaction to this.

FedEx will do nothing for the OP because she is not the original shipper....LV is.

They will just tell her to contact LV to have LV make the claim.

Only the original shipper can file a claim.

thanks for the feedback everyone, apparently it was stolen off the truck, I understand these things happen, LV has no choice but to give me a store credit for the purchase price no matter how old the wallet is, they lost it and it should be replaced, since the same wallet isn't available I should be able to get a comparable wallet in my opinion, but it's only a wallet, I'll get over it! and yes, I will have a brand new one, but I'm still disappointed the wallet was only a year old and the snap broke, I also have a NF damier ebene that is only 6 months old and the straps are ripped and cracking, we spend alot of money on LV, their quality should be better!!

I agree with you and im glad to hear that they give you store credit you have a right to be upset considering its irreplacesable it would have been ok if you can get another one but you cant so they should be acomodating were spending alot of money to buy there pruducts.

and one more thing I dont think Lv is doing it out of the goodness in there heart im pretty sure that Fedex will be charge for that its should have been insured when you mail stuff in Fedex in my opinion
