I really hope I don't get bashed for this but I feel LV is being fair by offering you a credit for the original cost of the wallet that is a year old. Yes I know it isn't replaceable to you and it's sad that they don't have the same one anymore, but you used it for a year and get the full retail price back and I personally would be happy with that compensation.

I agree.

I agree, at least they're offering to compensate you. Sure the original is gone, but at least you'll get to play with a new one soon!

agreed, feel lucky that you get original retail price back at you for a wallet that's already a year old and broken (since it was being sent for repairs).

That is not good news. Be happy that LV is providing a full store credit for the lost wallet. Luxury brand or not, they are in the business of making money and are replacing a used lost wallet at full cost to you. They are not simply sending you a card of apology, a set of coasters reserved as a gift for a VIP or a $50 gift card - you can get a new wallet or put $$$ towards something new. When you go to the boutique you can ask them to work for you and search worldwide for the same wallet. They are bound to find one and do an international transfer in this case.

thanks for the feedback everyone, apparently it was stolen off the truck, I understand these things happen, LV has no choice but to give me a store credit for the purchase price no matter how old the wallet is, they lost it and it should be replaced, since the same wallet isn't available I should be able to get a comparable wallet in my opinion, but it's only a wallet, I'll get over it! and yes, I will have a brand new one, but I'm still disappointed the wallet was only a year old and the snap broke, I also have a NF damier ebene that is only 6 months old and the straps are ripped and cracking, we spend alot of money on LV, their quality should be better!!

I am sorry to hear about this, don't give up and ask the store manager again when you go in. I just sent one of my bags in for a repair and I hope they are not going to loose it.
