What a beautiful offer, I'd take it. After reading, I thought he was going to offer you a special order lol. At my maison store a B35/40 seems a little easier to be offered than a B30 so I hope you don't have to wait too long.

oohh OP- have you considered the HAC? A friend recently got one and it looks so so good!!Since you are a guy and originally wanted a B40, I think you’ve made the right decision to wait for at least a B35.
I hadn't really considered it before or included it on my wishlist, but I have been looking at it more.o

Babe you’re going to get your bag. The right bag for everyone else is still the wrong bag for you. Esp now reading you’re a guy, I think you were correct to get the b35/40.I hadn't really considered it before or included it on my wishlist, but I have been looking at it more.
My only "concerns" with the HAC 40 is that it might be a little on the heavier side, and plus I don't know if the proportions (i.e. it being taller) would drive me crazy.
God, I am just a nervous wreck right now. I haven't even eaten breakfast.![]()
You definitely didn't make a mistake. Thanks everyone---with all the people here saying the B30 in etoupe/ghw is their "dream bag"---now I am wondering did I make a mistake?
Should I have gone with the more desirable and "scarce" bag?![]()
I feel nauseous. Now I am really looney!!!![]()
Don’t second guess yourself. I have a B30 etoupe, phw, and while I like it a lot, it’s not my favorite. Thanks everyone---with all the people here saying the B30 in etoupe/ghw is their "dream bag"---now I am wondering did I make a mistake?

Yep! This is true. I used to have a Barenia B40 (now have a 35) and I think DH's Barenia/feutre HAC 40 is actually heavier than the full Barenia B40. It is way, way heavier than my B35. Again, to me, the HAC feels like luggage vs. the Birkin feeling like a "bag".ETA: it’s my understanding that a HAC 40 is heavier and reinforced; I seem to recall a post by @averagejoe re the HAC 40
I’ve owned a fauve barenia HAC 32 and a clemence 32, and neither was super heavy. I don’t think they were reinforced, but I did carry multiple bottles of wine in my barenia HAC. But honestly these days a 35B is plenty heavy for me.Yep! This is true. I think the HAC 32 is not built quite the same way as they don't seem so weighty.
Such wise words, from such a caring authority...I'm applauding, as one is wont to do when you speak, dear! You did not do the wrong thing by rejecting it. My first b was a 35 and my second two are 30s. As much as I love my 30s, my 35 is my FIRST love. It is also the original size and can carry a ton. (I still carry about four small items, but it is nice to know that I can carry a coat in there, if I wish.) Birkins are tote bags, so start with a 35 or 40. You won't regret it at all! Then, if you love the tote, pick up a 30 somewhere down the line.
