Omg...I am soooooo sorry everyone for keeping you in suspense. I got super busy at work dealing with some new hires on my team and hadn't got a chance to repost.

Me: (trying to stay calm and collected) Oh yeah, really?
SA: Yes, I have a beautiful Birkin 30 in etoupe with gold hardware...would you be interested?
Me: (trying to find words and still trying my best not to sound like a discombobulated looney) Oh. Yes!!....

Thanks. So that wasn't the end... My SA could hear the hesitation in my voice (since I originally had a B35 or B40 on my wishlist), and said "well does that sound good to you?"
I replied, trying to be as gracious as possible about the offer...that I didn't feel that's the right bag for me. My SA understood and told me if this wasn't exactly what I wanted then I don't have to feel bad about declining. I'd rather this bag go to someone who it "fits".

Whoa! Not the ending I’d expected! That being said, definitely best to decline an offer for a bag that isn’t quite right…the right one will come along. In the past year, I’ve declined offers for two Bs and a K, none of which were exactly what I wanted. My SA knew, even as she offered them, that they weren’t right.
