Here is my first luxury bag purchase: a Moynat Flori in Bourbon. I picked up this beauty at SCP. I was already in the already because we were going to Disneyland. I've been saving up for a luxury handbag for some time, but I wanted to take my time finding a bag that "sparked joy."

I always thought I'd get a Chanel flap because I've admired it for so long. I went vacationing in Paris last summer and stood in line at the Chanel boutique for more than an hour. When I stepped into the boutique, they didn't have the bag in the color I was looking for. The SA told me to come back the following day to see if they restocked. I was little put off by the idea of waiting in line for a long time to again not find what I want -- that would sour my whole vacation. I decided not spend my hard-earned dollars on a bag that did not spark joy, even if it was Chanel. So I took my time, and I am so glad I found a bag I really love.

Also to add: the Moynat boutique at SCP was a wonderful experience. The SAs there were very kind and welcoming. I am eye-ing a Rejane bag BB. I didn't get it then because I felt it was too formal.

It is a beautiful bag. Question will it hold a key fob and sunglasses in a soft case? I totally agree about the service at SCP they are so nice.

Thank you! For me I carry a lot of keys -- car key, garage key, gate key, house key, and work keys. I have to keep them in a pouch. The Flori fits my key pouch, phone, lip balm, and of course, the zip-wallet. I did try putting in my blue-light filtering glasses -- they're not large -- it could fit but it was starting to look packed. Again, I carry a lot of keys. If I only had my car key and house keys, it wouldn't look so stuffed.

I’ve bought Moynat directly from Paris and was told it was plated and all the internet information and articles mention plating.

As for gold plating; they used both 18 and 24kt plating depending on the model.

I wasn’t weighing in on the hardware composition (I have no clue what the hardware is made of; never really thought about it). Just stating that the info you cited in that post didn’t read to me the same as it read to you, so it didn’t really support your position IMO.

It’s because they are deliberately using language that is confusing on purpose to blur the lines. (As someone that works in this industry; if they don’t indicate solid then it simply isn’t because features are highlighted as plus values). The word finish is used when something is plated or painted.

I’ve noticed that Moynat gold plated hardware doesn’t have a hallmark like H does and vintage CC. Do you know why some gold plated hardware have a hallmark and some don’t? Maybe due to the amount of gold in the plating process? I’m not sure why, I’m not familiar with the plating process… I would love for Moynat and JD to have a hallmark. It seems to me to make it more legit that’s in fact gold plated. But I’m not an expert so I don’t really know.
