I have the smaller Pauline, love it and use it a lot! I've never thought about the handles remaining upright to be honest, even if they flop a bit they'll be upright when I'm holding them, so not unduly concerned! I never intend to part with it. My only wish was that I'd grabbed a larger one when they were available as it would be a lot better for work.I've decided to sell my Pauline (large, blue). It is my only Moynat and is Ramesh.
Why sell it? Because i am seriously cutting down the bag closet. The Moynat is big. It's blue. I find myself not using it (but I do like to visit it in my closet). It's kind of redundant (I have a Delvaux east-west Brillant that I also don't use often). And I often think, there is no way those handles are going to stay upright over time, are they?
But then I think, I'm going to regret this, aren't I? I'm not likely to snag another Ramesh. I do think it's wonderful in its funky shape. It is so nicely made.
I go back and forth on this. Sometimes I think, sell the LV Speedy B 30. I'd get about the same amount of money for it, it takes up about the same amount of space in the closet, it is so common and easy to replace. Then I remember how darn practical it is. Then I think, beauty and rarity vs. practicality and my left brain and right brain fall into fisticuffs.
Wow, now that I put it like that, maybe the Speedy has to go.
Curious how other Pauline owners feel about their bags. Especially the handle situation.
Also understand that I am overthinking this and am in general, a dork because of it. But if I cannot be dorkily overly obsessive about bag decisions here at tPF, where can I?
That said I did part with my Josephine just recently as really never used it (the style just was a little too small and girly for me, colours too light to be practical) the resale market for these is really not good, so I'd think long and hard before selling it if I were you.
