I noticed the Moynat website has a new Gabrielle compact wallet. They really are expanding the Gabrielle line rapidly now that Knightly is gone.

This is so pretty! Convenient size too. I’m glad to see Gabrielle on focus again. I haven’t been following very closely, but it seems knightly didn’t leave much of an impact. Is it just his flori that survived?

Great observation! Something was off but I couldn’t put my finger on it. They should have just shrunk the M while keeping it proportional.
I totally agree. And based on the description which states “Front snap-button closure”, it sounds like the “M” clasp might not twist like it does on the Gabrielle bags, but instead might be purely decorative. If that’s the case, crafting the hardware to scale should have been a pretty simple adjustment.

Knowing that it's owned by LVMH where they like to do things in a hurried way without taking a lot of things into consideration (cf. the LV strategy re: Capucines), perhaps they could not be bothered to R&D the hardware :D

That’s a great point - I think the baluchon is still in the boutiques and online too but that might be it. And I’m not sure who gets the credit for those wood-based bags (the vanity box, the wheel, etc.). I actually think the wheel is an interesting, carefully designed bag. But that’s about it, sadly.

Yeah it’s like the crazy proliferation of all of those different LV hardware logos for no apparent reason.

Also I'm curious about what happened with the Capucines (I see on their website that it doesn't seem to be available online anymore, and more weirdly searching for Capucines on the LV forum returns ZERO results).

Oh wow. I did not know about it being wiped out from the forum. Before that it was the purging from the website where you cannot buy it anymore. The tea was LV was (is?) trying so hard to make the Capucine sort of like the Birkin or Kelly of LV, i.e. difficult to get, exclusive, expensive, etc etc. There was a thread about it on the LV forum.

The problem with that is not many people are not enamoured with the Capucine. Sure it's a cute bag, but not that cute. The fans who liked it have already bought multiples and have moved on to other styles (the last time I heard). So the strategy seems a bit confusing. Like, making a mildly desirable bag super desirable by artificially limiting access to it. I'm not sure if it's working.

Got it. Like what Fendi did for a while with the Peekaboo. And making the Neverfull a waiting list item? (Did that revert to normal? They seem to be available online but maybe it was a different bag I'm thinking of.)

(And the Forum issue seems to be a search/index related thing.)

LulaLV did a segment on her YouTube channel regarding codes to search for specific items on the LV site. To find Capucines on the US website, you enter N8 or N9 in the search bar. Good luck!
