I did try that but somehow I could not find much Kelly belt except in exotic/special leather. Hence, I was also wondering how easy it is to find the Kelly belt in Japan?

stock on Hermes.com does not reflect availability in the stores
however it is constantly changing, so it is worth looking regularly

Mixing metal : an older medor belt
(@Mrs.Hermess , if you don’t want to wait for the new cdc / medor to get to the boutique, there are usually plenty of them at resale). The smaller sizes tend to be unworn, in great condition, and less than the price of a CDGM) I have a few bc my older ones were much larger (worn in the belt loops of low waisted denim). I’ll use the larger ones now outside thicker jackets or coats.

Hermes beige and etoupe dresses; raffia hat; 25B sellier; 30B swift, brushed phw by @docride; Jaime tall boots; gold medor belt, size 70, Epsom, GHW. Black CDC belt, size 80, box leather, phw.

Charvet white shirt; Dior sleeveless jacket and charcoal leopard skirt both 2022); Chanel black sparkly windowpane jacket (maybe 2017?) and windowpane skirt (sale 2023); everlane Mary Jane’s; Anthracite silk charmeuse blouse (bespoke Turnbull & Asser)

I wanted to share this special belt I just received from Paris. Limited edition obsidian buckle with croc leather. Only one was made in each size and it’s an annual release per my FSH SA, and each year they change the material of the buckle. The obsidian is super sleek and shiny. I really love it.
It took a few days to get cleared from customs and US Fish & Wildlife due to the croc but it’s here!

Both my SA and I agree that a large Constance buckle is normally not our cup of tea, but in a special material like this, it is very special. I also think with the noir color, it will never go out of style and I can wear it for a long time.

I'm considering buying an Hermes belt for my husband and he's very particular about a belt that feels "substantial" and dimensional, not thin and flat. We tried visiting our local boutique but didn't realize it was closed today. I thought I'd consult this thread before we get a chance to return and see the belts ourselves in person.

Would you say Hermes straps are on the thinner side, or do they feel sturdy and heavyweight? I've been looking on the website and it looks like they offer a variety of materials, but I assume the options may be limited in the store. I'm also curious to hear about the quality of craftsmanship and how they hold up over time, as well as if you've noticed any quality decline in recent models. We popped into Louis Vuitton and I liked the minimal designs of their belts, but they felt paper thin, which DH didn't like.
