Hi all! I was wondering for those of you who have purchased the zip dome crossbody - how do you like it? Does it hold all essentials? Is it awkward as a crossbody bag?
I can fit a corner zip wristlet, card case, phone, keys and gum with my glasses case on top. It's a little hard to get in and out of. I don't mind it crossbody but I don't care how it lays crossbody as long as it can be worn that way.

Do they have promos you can use on the classic styles? And how do you get the promos? Thanks
There is a PCE code - MARCH30 - but it only works on the Originals belt bag. You can get the coupons via snail mail or email by creating an account at your local Coach store.

And make sure you build a relationship with a sales associate. They can give you invitations to special events that have exclusive discounts, too.

I just bought my first Original! I got the belt bag in the yummy white color. The belt bag is definitely long like Addicted To Bags said, but I was able to wrap the strap tightly around my waist (and feeding the end through the loops twice). So it stays nice and secure around my tiny waist.

I love it. The leather is so smooth and soft. I definitely plan on buying more of these original bags in the future.

I think I've decided to keep this Turnlock Tab Messenger after all, since it sold out online and I likely won't be able to chase one down again if I wanted one. I just LOVE the colour and dark hardware, slightly burnished finish, and leather lining. My one complaint is that it's pretty flat, but the width should allow me to fit what I need. Shorties beware, though - I'm 5'2 and use the shortest setting (out of 6 holes), and would normally prefer the drop to be shorter. Understandable, though, as this is classified as a men's bag.

Maybe the plastic zipper and mesh pocket inside is a bit odd, but nobody can see that.

Glad you like it! Have you seen how long the strap is? It's ridiculous, maybe for someone 6' ft tall :giggle:

Haha yes I did! The sales associate told me that I am supposed to tie the strap into a knot to shorten it, because as she puts it, "that is what they did back in the 80's".

I took a pic of the knotted strap and a modeling pic of how the bag looks with the strap shortened. I don't like the way the knot sticks out when I wear it this way. I probably won't use it and just keep the waist strap attached to my bag instead.IMG_20200307_230016.jpg

Well I have to say, the buzz is not unfounded! I went over to Coach/Nordstrom's just to check it out first hand. View attachment 4672196 View attachment 4672198 Both styles are definitely upscaled a bit in size from the vintage original. The VB pouch is a bit over 6in across.
The color on the shoulder bag changed with the light. At first glance I swore it was burnt orange. But it is more tomato-y, if that makes sense.
In Coach, the super nice young women brought out and showed me the geometric clutch in ivory (just as stunning as the yellow) and a color block and the Emory and Rambler in the fuschia-y shade. And a tiny long belt bag in ivory. And then she brought out a taupe Dinky and indicated the leather was intentionally softer. Like Costa Rica vintage soft.
The bags will be going out on the floor next week.

Yes and the size is good and true to dimensions listed. It’s my fav of the originals I’ve checked out so far since the others are too small for me. Here’s my carmine next to Cassie and the leather is so soft. Love it so much I ordered the chalk too.

Picked up the white geometric at Nordies for a gift since Coach was sold out. I see they have since resocked. I just noticed there was no dustbag so I will complain. I thought the recipient might not like it. Turns out I was wrong.

Oh I saw these bags knotted up in the store and wondered why. I totally forgot about that. Yes. Now I remember making my bag shorter. In fact I kept wondering what was different about one of the original bags they are showing now that I know that I owned and I finally remembered that the one I had had a cord strap and the one they are featuring now has an adjustable strap. I did remember thinking when I first saw it, that it was probably just as well since my bag was always too long for me. I completely forgot I knotted up that bag. Didn't seem strange at all at the time. The only thing is I don' t think I had that bag in the eighties. I was thinking it was a little later but maybe so. I know it was one of the first that I bought for myself.

I would love your thoughts on the quality of the leather of this new Originals line. I’ve heard that nothing is like Coach vintage leather (thick, chewy), but I am also someone who tends to buy new items and haven’t shopped much on the pre-loved market. For those of you that have both, what do you think of the quality of the Originals leather compared to vintage leather? Also, is this Originals line a limited edition thing, or does a coach tend to release an Originals line every season? Thanks in advance everyone for the help!

The Originals line is too new to know what will happen. If sales are an indicator, Coach would be wise to continue to make them as long as they are popular.

I only have one original bag and it is pebbled leather, not smooth, so I can't attest to the quality of the Originals bag you are looking at. I do like the quality of the originals bag I bought. I bought it because I loved the style and color. There isn't a vintage equivalent. I have had several vintage pocket purses. The leather on most of them is divine - there are variations depending on where the bag was made, when it was made, and how it was taken care of. You can wash and condition them to get closer a perfect bag. Vintage bags are cheaper. You could buy an Originals bag and return it if you don't like it. Or you could buy a vintage bag for less money and if you don't like it, you don't have as much invested in it, and you could probably sell it for close to what you paid. Vintage bags are unlined and it takes a while to get used to the furry suede interior. They have been handled and used by people you don't know, and that might gross you out. Being able to wash them goes a long way in getting rid of the ick factor for me, but not all stains and marks come out. By its nature, vintage leather scratches easily, pretty much every time you use it. Conditioner makes the scratches less apparent but they don't go away.
