Beautiful Trim bags---I have enjoyed reading all the postings and looking at the gorgeous photos! My question is does anyone know the Trim is all handmade as are Kellys, Bolides, etc?
Thanks for any information you all have!

I don't know why they wouldn't be. My understanding is the only machine sewing is putting in zippers, and that goes for all bags.

There are many threads and much information on tPF on this subject. You can do a search if you are interested in this topic.

All Hermes leather bags are made a craftsperson, actually it is various craftspeople these days, by hand. Parts of the bags are stitched by a sewing machine (guided by hand) other parts are purely by hand with a needle and thread in saddle stitch.

Hello Ladies,
I'm glad I'm revisiting this thread. I was going to sell my black trim II (it's much larger than my 31, which I carry often, I'm not sure quite how big it is because I bought it preloved), but I am now going to keep it!
vive le trim!
Does anyone know for sure whether Trims are or are not currently in production?

I asked my SA about this a couple of months ago ... according to her (and the bag book), Trims are currently available only in the 35 size, non-gusseted version. I think only in black. This was a bummer for me because I was considering a 31 with a gusset!

Thank you. I got the one I was contemplating selling back and checked the receipt--it's a 43, apparently, which is quite large indeed. Good for travel.

Don't know why I forgot, but here's my Trim II, barenia and toile, I use her more than any so far, probably because I bought her knowing she would co-ordinate with so many things in my wardrobe !

Fellow Trim lovers - I've decided that my first H bag would be a 31 cm Trim I (the oldest version, without the gusset). I love the slim, elegant look, and since I tried on arabesques' beautiful Barenia one, I need one!
I can't quite decide on color though - I've seen black, brown, rouge H boxcalf. Do you know if there would be a chance to find this bag in say raisin or vert fonce, or another color? How about the toile/barenia in the smaller size?
Pics are welcome if you have the bag I'm dreaming of :smile1:

Sophie, in the world of H, it seems there's a _chance_ of anything happening! I would think a barenia-and-toile Trim would be most likely to pop up on the pre-loved market, at least from what I've seen...although I did luck onto a raisin Trim I. :) Wishes do come true! Good luck and let us know what finds you!
