I'm on tenterhooks waiting for my first Hermes bag to arrive : a 31 Trim 2 in Rouge H Epsom with white stitching.
I realised I'd never ever be 100% sure with choice of a bag design, I love the Lindy . In the end your lovely bags and action photos of Trims on this thread helped me decide.
And the price was very attractive...
I'm new to H leather and shall be pleased to have my diagnosos of leather and colour confirmed , so I'll post some photos when it arrives .

By the way, the Trim is on sale in London ...Bond St and Harrods both had one in stock at £3300 .
At last I was able to handle and try a Trim ! And I liked ....

Memo Thankyou for the welcome ! I think Trims are back in the stores now .

The bag arrived , and I do need advice .
It is lovely, and my feeling is I chose well as I really like the colour and style. However the bag has an issue that may be a problem.
I've posted to Docride to see what she thinks.
Please understand this is my first H bag, and I don't know much about the subject . I just want a bag I will love using [and it won't be one of many H bags ]
The bag is lovely , great colour and no flaws or scuffs .

However the bag looks squashed as if it's been compressed by storage maybe [ it arrived beautifully packed in a rigid cardboard box] You can see the sides and base bulge out , also the handle is distorted.
I'm pretty sure it's Epsom , and from what I've read it is completely rigid and should keep its form 100% So it may never return to the original shape.

Should I keep it , or is this distortion unacceptable ?

If the latter I need to contact the seller very soon, to see if she will accept it back .

Since I posted the photos Docride has explained that the bag is fine, and the slight flattening caused by normal wear .
I think I'm fine with that , still I'd value your opinions about the bag too .

Congratulations on your first H bag frou frou.

I like it on you. It's classic, neat and smart but still casual and I can see the classic Rouge H will go well with your wardrobe and colouring. It looks roomy but it seems to be the right size for your frame. Normally, I'm not keen on contrast stitching on darker leathers but it suits the Trim II well. I can't tell if it's Epsom on this little screen but I have nothing against Epsom (or its forerunners) and especially since corner-wear is not usually an issue with a shoulder bag. I can't see the 'distortion' you speak of on this screen I think so long as you love it and will use it at least from time to time I think you should keep it. I give it a

Everyone FYI the new Trims in the stores all seem to be Trim I

froufrou - congrats on your lovely new bag! I have tried out two trims and neither worked for me, but I think you made a super choice. I think Doc's advice is always spot on, and I think it looks great on you! I bought a preloved Christine and it was more rigide in Barenia and toile than I thought it would be, but since it came with a lovely insert, it worked out fine. Once you put your items in it, it should help fill it out I would think. You need to be happy with it though, so only you know best if it meets all your expectations!

frou frou, Congratulations on your lovely Trim. I think it looks wonderful you! As papertiger said, it is just the right size for your frame. And such a lovely color, too. IMO it's a great classic to have as a first H bag! I don't know from personal experience, but perhaps the "distortions" will lesson as you use the bag.

Frou Frou, congrats ! Your trim is beautiful and I love the vintage and classy vibe it has.

Thankyou all so much for your appraisal , opinions from ladies like you are gold dust to me .
Looking with fresh eyes this morning gave me the perspective I need to see it works really well for me .
And that colour ! Well, I knew I loved Rouge H but until I put it next to my scarves I didn't realise what that it would work with almost each and everyone of my scarves !
Oh happy day ! Off to work now, and thanks again XO

Frou Frou,

This Rouge H Trim II is perfection! You wear it so very well. And to put your mind further at ease, my own Epsom Trim II relaxes in the manner you photograph--it's not a worry at all! I actually enjoyed it relaxing, as it feels more "mine."

And nothing can be better than the fact the color works with all your scarves. Rouge H is one perfect color. There is nothing, nothing like it!

Congratulations on your find!

Congratulations, FrouFrou! Your Trim II is beautiful on you and I hope you enjoy it very much. Arabesques' raisin Trim is a powerful motivator, isn't it?

This is my new-to-me 43 Evergrain Trim I, from a lovely tPFer. It is in beautiful shape and I took it on my recent trip to drizzly/rainy Amsterdam and Paris, where it performed beautifully. It held so much and was really comfortable on my shoulder. I had a belt cut down to use as a shoulder-strap extender, to enable me to wear it as a cross-body bag, but I didn't even feel the need to do that.

For size reference, I'm 5'8". I was concerned about the size, but I don't think it's overwhelming, and even when it's really stuffed, it doesn't look huge. I was afraid a Trim II could easily get out of hand, with my purse-stuffing proclivities.

I haven't seen Trims in stores, but I asked SA about them last fall when I heard here that they were discontinued. She pulled out the book and showed me that they are available to order. I believe that was the Trim II, IIRC.

Ladies, please advise, what's your opinion on a 35 Trim as a travel bag? I'm petite, size US2, 162 cm tall. Would the 35 size overwhelm me? I usually travel with a 30 cm GP, but it's too small and not ideal since it's open top. How heavy is the 35 in Clemence? Ideally, my travel bag ought to fit 4 passports, phone, two sets of keys, a book and a magazine, chewing gum, small jewelry roll and diverse kids' stuff, maybe a compact camera. I suppose all this would fit, it's the weight that worries me. TIA for your thoughts.
