I am so damn excited to finally join the P club!

I've been waiting for a very long time and finally my SA found me the perfect P18... vert cyprès with GHW :yahoo:

BIG thanks to everyone who chimed in in advance...
@DoggieBags it's not Maurice like I'd preferred (thanks again for your photo!) but this bag was a particularly beautiful Clemence. Plus apparently my store, SF, is only getting Maurice in very bright colors and I wanted a neutral so it's probably a fruitless hunt.
@crisbac @chanelever it WAS love at first sight! I thought of you both when I when I was deciding
@lvmon I agree with @BowieFan1971 - vert cyprès is a perfect neutral! I'm a black/gray/cream/jeans wearer and I'm obsessed with how good VC looks with my wardrobe.

Ok now to the question of inserts:

When I thought my SA was holding a Maurice bag I figured I could get away with something super soft without structure (i.e. @DoggieBags post and also what @Wozimom found) but now I'm on the fence. I carry only 4 tiny items so organization isn't my need, I just really don't like when the Ps get slouchy/collapsed at the bottom corners

What's the best option that will give the bottom corners structure without preventing the bag from closing nicely (i.e. my few items sit flat along the bottom so the bag closes exactly as if it were empty... I'd like to keep it that way!)

I know people love MaiTai inserts and I've bought/loved WhiteFox inserts but neither of those are shaped with an inward taper which seems critical to keep the fold/close really natural. What's the vote here?

 BEAUTIFUL!! :tender: I love love this colour:love: Congrats!..Vert Cyprès with GHW was on my radar too! So happy for you! X

What a great color! How long was a very long time? I put in a request for a few different options, all GHW, and I’m already antsy after two weeks.
Thanks :) I first mentioned the P18 to my SA about 18mos ago, she was casually looking for a gold one which never showed up, prob due to pandemic. In the meantime I changed my preferences and asked for anything in neutral (except etoupe) with GHW and then waited... I think it took her about 3mos to find one. VC wasn’t even on my list, I’d hoped for a gray, but it’s delightful. I guess 3mos isn’t actually that long, it just feels like so much longer since I originally started talking to her about the P18 over a year ago.

You could take a 24” scarf or piece of fabric and place it in the bag, put your stuff in and tie the corners diagonally together. I did that until I made my drawstring bag. Pop of color, privacy for your contents and protects the inside.
Interesting, I may try this while I wait to find an insert :)

Thanks @crisbac! What do you love about MaiTai inserts? The colors don't do it for me and they look very structured so I worry they won't allow the bag to close nicely.

Thank you! I was thinking it might be too teal-ish but it's really a stunning green!

My pleasure, dear @peonies13! ;) I love MaiTai inserts because IMHO I think the structure is just perfect to me: not so stiff and not so soft. Besides, I didn't get indentations in my bags when using them. I love the design, the selection of materials and the exquisite craftsmanship.

I agree with crisbac  .
I have a Mai Tai insert for my P22 (which I haven't used since Covid) and it's stored with the Mai Tai insert and I don't see any indentations.

My vote is maitai insert too. Using one for my P18. Plus other bags.
I use the pockets for very small items, like travel perfume, lippies, hand sanitizer. Have to be careful on sanitizer (and of course perfume too) leakage onto your bag. The pocket helps to keep those bottle in place and not rolling around, risking the cap being accidentally flipped open.

Of course other bag inserts can do that too however maitai has one of the best quality and i feel it's worth my picotin (=

Thank you, this is very helpful, especially to know it's neither too stiff nor soft. The dents are my big worry!
