Ode to the Picotin

Fellow H ladies! I'm new to Hermes and am planning to get a picotin either in the 18 or 22. I am just shy of 5ft (I am very short) and don't usually wear heels.
Initially, I wanted the 22. My lovely SA called me to view a picotin 22 in store. Here's a photo of me modelling the 22 in store. I end up didn't getting it as I feel that the base is a bit bulky. I also had the opportunity to try on a picotin 18 and it suited me a lot better. my SA also agreed that the PM size is nicer.

I'm in a dilemma. Should I get the 22, even though it's big on me and I find the base bulky, but I can carry it on my shoulder and bring it to work?
Or should I get the 18 when it's the cutest bag ever, but probably not suitable to bring to work as it is too small?
I find myself in a dilemma. If I'm going to spend a considerable amount of money on a bag, I want to USE it to its full potential. A 22 means I can carry it 5 times a week to work; but an 18 means I'll only carry it twice a week on weekends.
Any ladies who's 5ft???

Hi! I also love picotins! I am just a bit taller than you and wear both sizes. If you feel the base on the 22 is bulky, I think you should wait for the !8cm. I think it may be more proportionate on your frame and you might be surprised how much the 18 really fits! Good luck deciding!
Thank you for your quick reply! May I ask which size do you find yourself reaching towards more? :)

If this is the 22, I don't think it looks big on you at all! It look fabulous. You should get it, because you know it would be worth it for you. As long as you like how it looks too!
Yes it's the 22. awwh really it doesn't look too big on me?! :) haha I feel like the 18looks better on me, but the 22 will be more "worth the money" considering that I can carry it to work more often... Hmm now you're making me lean towards the 22 :P

They both look good. You can always carry a tote additionally for work if you get the 18. I have both sizes and find myself wearing the 18 more. As someone above commented, it holds a lot. I am 5'4".

Now I see you are holding the 22. It looks good! Seriously. You can tuck in the edges. Maitai makes a great bag liner for this size too. Go with your heart, but your picture looks good

at the moment, I reach for my 18cm more because I love the color and find the size to be so cute. I do still love my 22 and reach for that on days where I need to carry more... but there is still quite a bit of room to spare in the 22cm for me. To me, a 22 has more presence so to speak, but the 18cm are really cute. Perhaps get the 22 now since it is versatile enough for work and later down the road, consider getting an 18cm in a fun color. I think it is a very chic bag on you!
