For Lindy 30, I prefer Clemence to Evercolor.

For Lindy 26, i feel any leather is fine.

For the bigger L30, Evercolor felt too stiff for my liking. But smaller L26, contents gonna fill up full anyway so my L26 doesn’t need the cookie shape.

Never had swift lindy before though.

Thank you. I have never seen or touched a Lindy in Evercolor and didn't realize it would be that stiff. That is good to know!

Sorry I don’t have the L30 clemence Anymore
It’s little white spot. Almost like someone drop white paint on your bag. I did this and the white spot went away

I held a hairdryer (not too close) n gentley blow the hot air against white spot. I was told the heat will dissolve the white fat from the leather.

I did the same thing for my Clemence Birkin.

Hi Everyone, my apologies if this is a repeat question here: I am considering purchasing my first Lindy 30 but cannot decide on the leather. I am considering the option of Evercolor or Swift. Can anyone who owns a Lindy in one of these leathers please offer some insight on how these leathers have been holding up and if you favour one leather over another in a Lindy? TIA!!

I have a L26 in swift and I love love love it! It’s so soft and buttery and light, and really easy (and fun) to squish. :P Not stiff at all! Initially I was worried about the swift being too delicate as well, but then I decided oh to heck with it, I’m just going to use and love it and it still looks brand new  I’ve only had it for a few months so I can’t comment yet on long term wear and sagging. I have a Jypsiere in clemence and I feel like clemence would be more rugged and durable because it’s thicker, but the swift seems more elegant to me because it’s a smooth leather. I love evercolor in structured bags but I don’t know how suitable it would be for a Lindy.

Thank you so much for your reply! Based on yours and all the amazing comments here, I have narrowed it down to Clemence or Swift! I didn't realize how stiff evercolor is and I do want a Lindy that can smoosh into a fortune cookie shape. It seems like clemence or swift are what I'm looking for, now to find the right color combo!

I have followed this thread secretly and thanks to all the useful information here, I finally pull my trigger on my first H bag!

I am proudly declare I am a member of the club:wave: Sharing my new Lindy 30 in etoupe in GHW, with a twilly tie on one of the handle. The twilly idea was taken from the members who have shared their wonderful ideas in tpf.

I'm loving my new purchase, and sadly to announce, I am on ban island for the rest of the year! :hrmm:

May I ask what do you think of doing the twilly on 1 side of the handle? Should I get it in a pair just for consistency? By the way, do you use insert for your Lindy? Sorry for so many questions asked, because I am just too excited! :girlsigh:

congrats and nice choice for your first bag!
I dont recommend insert for lindys since you would want the front and back leather parts to slouch and curve naturally for the fortune cookie look. when you do store it i would suggest using the air sealed bubbles and the pillow provided, after each use.
As for twillies, I do not use them and if I do for my lindy, i would only tie one... i find it more special and it's different to others :P

Thanks for your advise.
I did order a MaiTai insert after reading the positive review from TPF. Hopefully I make a right decision then [emoji28]

Hi, all! I’m newish to the world of Hermès and have fallen in love with the look of the Lindy, which amazes me because I’ve always been more drawn to structured bags. In most of my other bags, I tend to stick in the area of 30cm size. I don’t carry much more than a wallet, small cosmetic case, and a few odds and ends but I like to have room in my bag so it’s not too crowded and I can throw more in if need be. Does the bag only “fortune cookie” if it’s pretty empty? And not knowing much about the available leathers, what is the best option for softness/slouchiness and durability. I take care of my bags, but I do need them to be functional and not too delicate. Also, what leathers take brighter colors better? I prefer blues, purples, and pinks. Right now, I’ve got my eye on the magnolia color, but also saw a pre-owned darker purple (Evercolor Ultraviolet) that I like, but it looked glossy and stiffer in the pics.

I’ve been through this forum and the information I’ve found is great but overwhelming. I would love any guidance on distilling the information.

Thanks for your advise.

I think the Mai Tai insert is fine as it is short enough to allow the bag to slouch properly.

Enjoy your Lindy! It is a fun bag for sure and gets lots of compliments.
