For sure toujours*chic. I much prefer to buy them on sight and upon trying but alas it is not possible all the time (and especially if I'm tempted by special issues limited to certain stores). So far I have acquired 2 shawls sight unseen and have been lucky they worked. The thing is each picture/photo has different lighting and our monitors are not the same either. Description works to a certain extent but certainly nothing beats seeing it in person!

Hi Ms piggy, I took the crappy pic on the kilim rug too :(. The action pic on me is somewhat lighter than IRL. The border of the shawl is like the color of a favorite pinky brown lipstick; the white negative space is actually white interspersed with terracotta like pinks that look like they are painted on. I am Filipino, and not as pale as a lot of asians - and I was afraid the pink/terracotta border would wash me out. It actually helps that there is alot of lighter negative space because it allows the horse figures to "pop" more. I tried to take another pic for you - but my camera and picture taking skills leave a lot to be desired. . .The scarf is more brown pink on the border - this looks lighter and whiter :( BTW, I tried the black and turquoise/aqua one originally posted and the black was too harsh on me. :(. Have to say, I wasn't sure about this purchase initially and I think it is now a favorite.

Thank you toujours*chic, 880. I have seen and tried the CM in the mousseline. Amongst the 3 colourways of the GM mentioned, I think the terracotta would be the most suitable, if at all (black is too harsh and I don't do blue). I'm fair-skinned but with some yellow/sallow underbase and I do like soft colours. My concern is prob the shades/tones of the brown/pink. I'll mull over during the weekend. Thank you for your response, much appreciated!

AACCKK...Luckymom, you are definitely bad for my bankbook! Thanks for posting the pix of you modeling the GM mousse...it is absolutely gorgeous also. What a great DH to encourage you to get both - and you (and he) are right, they are two different looks....I may have to look into a set like you have! Meantime, I hope my black cashmere GM arrives next week at the boutique. My SA is planning to get herself one also, but hers will be terracotta!

I love this cw. I hope you get one soon! :woohoo:

Since you're wondering about the mousse as well, here is a picture of mine. The colors are much softer. Hope this helps. :graucho:

It is so hard to tell with different monitors and flashes and the like. What colors do you usually wear/like, Ms. Piggy? I am a true Winter and I need strong colors, so for me it is no contest - the black with aqua. The terracotta and dusty pink is beautiful but would totally wash me out. Do you have a boutique near you? I am sure they would accept a return if the GM got to you and you discovered it was not a good colorway. Particularly since we have no way to see these in advance since they only came in to Madison Ave...

That is for sure, Vildachya, my SA had not heard anything about the cashmere GMs either...but for this forum, I'd never know and I'd never have one so I am very grateful...assuming my shawl arrives safe and sound next week! Can't wait to see it IRL...until then I won't quite believe that it actually happened!!

The explanation I got from the SA at the Madison Avenue store about the c/s Cirque Molier is that they asked Hermes to produce a design in c/s in several color ways for just their store because they sell so many c/s shawls. They wanted something additional to offer their customers. It also probably helped that they were offering it in GM mousseline for this season. It remains to be seen whether it will be issued in the same and/or some additional color ways for all the boutiques in the future. I think many of us would never have known about it if it were not for this forum!!

I'm a soft colour person nothing too strong. I was told I could take warm or cool colours as long as it's not too harsh/contrasting. On the terracotta I'm just wondering how the brown/pink tones are like. For eg, I couldn't take the dusty pink Marwari but the soft pink Tigre/Les Coupes work on me. Overall, I need some brights like cream/beige near my face for it to work. Hard to explain, but when I try it out, I would instantly know. Alas, it's difficult for my local boutique to accept return if I ask them to do a search for the item.

Ms P, I have yellow/sallow underbase, and the terracotta is not at all yellow-orangey if that helps. It is more pinky-brown (but on the cool side). my pic looks more yellow - orange than it is. The chiffon pic that lovelymom look seems most accurate to me in terms of color. I am really very sorry that I am incapable of taking a better pic! hugs!

Looked at the pics again, and the scarf border is CLOSER in color to the spread out pic I took on the kilim or the one that Lucky mom took on the manniquin. My husband just left, so I am going to try to take another pic. Shoot, still lighter than IRL

Apologies all - if this is more suited to PM - I just cannot seem to attach pics in PM

I have the same dilemna Miss Piggy- at these prices, I have to be very sure what I buy is going to be something that works for me. I had one (terracotta) on hold and decided to pass because none of these cws are exactly my colors. There is a whole lot of other silk mischief to get into with the Spring and Fall collections- I have learned that if I am on the fence about something, it is better not to pull the trigger. Have to admit these shawls look beautiful here.

ditto ditto. but what's my excuse? i picked out the Coupons Indiens IRL!!! won't wear it, just not the right design (in my c/w) for me :nogood:

I haven't seen the terracotta in real life, but my suspicion is that there is a brown undertone to the light pink, which I don't think is the case with the pale pink in the Tigre Royale. I say this because the pink closer to the Marwari also has a brown undertone and would coordinate better with the CM terracotta border. Does this make sense? I can't say, but my guess is that, unfortunately, the pink in the CM is probably not the one that you say looks better on you. I know that would be the case for me. Hope you can get enough info or pictures to make a proper guess about it!

I agree, the terracotta has more of the brown tone hence the terracotta designation- I would not buy this thinking it is a "pink" shawl. To me, it is more along the lines of clay pottery....if you do not mind risking the cost of shipping, you could go ahead and order it from Madison Avenue- if it does not work, ship it back and get store credit- I guarantee you will fancy something else sooner or later. It is better not to lose out if you feel there is a chance the Cirque will work for you- this is a very charming Dumas design.

The Marwari pink was a flesh tone pink and I looked like death when wearing it. I wrote those colors down so I could avoid them in the future.... not that Hermes is consistent with color names.
The pink Marwari was a dusty pink.

IMO boise de rose is a color that looks best on those of us that are VERY pale and cool toned or have a darker complexion in general. It's that middle ground, where most skin tones fall, that makes it a bit iffy--especially with yellow tones in the skin. I have a couple of friends that looked horrible in it, but it works for my Casper-like skin. Go figure.

At todays meet, Miss Margaux was listening to me saying I could not take good pics of cirque molier, and she very nicely called her husband up to ask him to come to the restaurant and take a pic of the colorway for us. He loves photography as a hobby and has a very impressive camera and she said that she would post as soon as they got home tomorrow. . . have to say I think I am kind of similar in complexion to doloresmia, and normally would never consider this colorway, but somehow it works on me. I cannot do regular Hermes pink, light orange, or any yellow, as it sallows my complexion.
