Ode to the Evelyne

Hi all, was recently offered and Evelyne TPM in Etoupe and Bleu Indigo a few weeks ago and absolutely love it. Have been using it almost daily since I took it home. I am traveling now and have walked with it everywhere, but noticed the scuffing on the bottom of the back part. Is this normal? If normal then it’s no problem, I’ll take it to the spa when the wear and tear becomes too obvious. If not normal, then I might take it when I return.

That does not seem normal after a few weeks of use, more like a few years. I'd inquire at the store.

I've been using mine almost every day since 2019(?) and there's no scuffing.

Did you wear something very textured and sharp like sequins or spikes (I have a very spikey sweater from Jay Ahr but luckily the spikes are only in range of the strap)?

I’ve only worn denim, cashmere joggers, and work slacks with the Evelyne, which is why I was surprised to see the scuffing.

I thought it might be the jean studs, but the bottom of the bag sits about an inch and a half lower than the stud. I only wear stretchy (legging-like) jeans, and they’re not super smooth, but they’re not as rough as regular denim either.

I should probably just go to the store and show it to my SA.

I won an Evelyne PM on Ebay that was advertised as Clemence. Ebay authentication has emailed me that the leather is Fjord, so it is not as advertised...I have never touched Fjord leather. My research indicates it is stiffer and possibly heavier than Clemence.

If you were in this situation would you keep the Fjord? Opinions appreciated. Thank you!

I don't know much about the differences between Hermes leathers but I love the texture of that leather. I've been on the fence about an Evelyne PM for years but that's beautiful. Enjoy!

I would choose fjord over clemence any day. It is even tougher- more resistant to wear and tear, it's waterproof, and it is really lasts. It is one of the most durable leather H has ever offered and it is currently out of production. That said, fjord typically has very pronounced (and, to my eye, gorgeous) veining and I don't see any on this bag, which makes me sus...

Hi everyone! So I have the Evelyn pm in etoupe and I wear it almost everyday! It’s a great bag and super comfortable. I have a tpm as well and not sure if I should sell it or not. Does anyone have both and love the tpm as much? I have the tpm in orange which I’m like maybe it isn’t an easy color to wear. Also do you think the Evelyn is an outdated style?

Does anyone have both and love the tpm as much? I have the tpm in orange which I’m like maybe it isn’t an easy color to wear. Also do you think the Evelyn is an outdated style?

I have both, and I’m short, so I‘m actually loving the TPM more as it hits me better. The PMs are wider than my flank so they kind of hit as I walk, where the TPM moves with me, if that makes sense. That said, I’m finding the capacity a challenge, as my Samsung Note20 is a tad too tall for the TPM. I might have to loose the case..
