Hi! Interesting and sad conversation on strap-problems. I have my E just a couple of weeks and used i ta few times so far. This never happened to me. I wonder how old are your bags? Maybe it is a productionproblem that has been solved in the meantime? I do hope all your bags are still fine and that you still love them. :flowers:

I think it's a design thing. It happened to me more when it was new, I haven't thought about it fo a very long time as though it settled down.

If the straps were sewn on permanently we'd all be moaning  .

My SA said he had it happen to a client once before and the remedy was to send it in to New York (I'm one state over in New Jersey) and they ended up replacing the hardware on the strap. I dropped off my bag with him so we'll see what happens. The estimate date for when it'll be ready is May 17th. He said it will hopefully be sooner, but these days, who knows?

Sauge is an absolutely stunning color and surprisingly neutral. Especially if you wear primarily black and white, it would make for the perfect pop. I couldn't decide which Evelyne color I wanted for a while because I'm mainly a neutrals girl as well, but with the Evelyne my SA and I both felt that even the slightest pop of color really brings out the beauty of the bag and makes it more fun. (I ended up with Vert Cypress because I just could not take my eyes off of it). I say go for the Sauge, but only if it makes your heart flutter. Another thing I would consider is your skin tone, whether or not you think it goes well with your skin tone.

Thank you for your advice!! I'm super happy with it -- it looks much 'younger' than the other neutrals I tried on.

Every once in awhile I begin thinking about selling my two Evelyne GMs and purchasing PMs instead. I love my Evies, but often find myself wishing they were a little smaller. I submitted my bags for a quote from Fashionphile several months ago, but I just wasn't ready to let them go. I submitted them again last week and the quote that came back was significantly more generous than the one they gave me several months ago. I also noticed the Evelynes for sale on the Fashionphile site are priced much higher than I've seen in the past--many are priced higher than retail.

What's going on? Is there a shortage of Evelynes from Hermes? Are they harder to come by from Hermes? The quotes were so high I'm seriously considering accepting them, even if it means I have to wait a few months before finding PM replacements, but I'd like to know exactly what situation I'm getting myself into.

I don’t think they (PM) are any harder to come by than they were a few months ago. I think GM is rarer, just because demand is also lower, so if you were given a great quote, jump on it. I’ve heard FP can give wildly different quotes just based on the luck of which employee looks at your item.

I picked up these leather strap attachments that allow you to attach a maxi twilly to use as a handle or shorter strap. Rather than try to recreate the rope like look I used a series of knots that another SA showed me how to do. Much easier!

Love your strap attachments! Did you get them at Hermes? What is the name or product code, please? I would love to get some as well. What a great way to attach a Maxi Twilly! Looks great!

Yes I did get them at Hermes! Unfortunately I don't keep receipts on accessories so I'm not sure about the product code. I had wanted another set in gold/gold but when I checked with my CA last week she said they were completely gone  But she also said that she is sure that they will be back in stock. When she contacts me I will let you know. There is also a post in the "What is your latest Hermes purchase" thread that shows a picture of them. Page 2705 Post 40,561. Maybe that person has the code?

Thank you so much for taking the time to answer and guiding me towards another page with a pic. I am really excited about this strap attachment. Another member (Meta) let me know that the straps are called Attache Soie. I will definitely look out for them and try to get them. Have a wonderful day!

Brand new to Hermès and I am interested in buying an Evelyne TPM from the boutique. How hard is this to find in store? Is it the type of bag that is scooped up by regular customers or can newcomers like me get their hands on one? I’d be interested in gold, etoupe, Nuit and am also open to pinks and blues? But in all honesty, I would consider any color!

I will be visiting the DC and NYC Meatpacking stores in the next couple weeks. Would the NYC Madison store be a better shot? I could also visit the NJ or PA stores. Would appreciate any tips!! Thanks in advance!
