Hello! I am considering (aka dreaming about) a bolide en desordre. Does anyone here have one and/or can anyone share if in general does the zipper soften over time and can the size 25 be worn crossbody (or need to buy a longer strap?). I’m quite petite at 5’1.5” as a reference.

A zipper does not "soften" over time- it DOES become easier to zip with use however. Is that what you mean?Hello! I am considering (aka dreaming about) a bolide en desordre. Butler leather is not a soft leather that will slouch over time, so the bag will remains that shape ( note- in a K, it is always made in Sellier, not Retourne). So, from that POV, the zipper will not change.
It also is a leather that will show scratches over time- although considered a "heritage" leather ( and beautiful) it will not patina like barenia or box.

Thank you! Very helpful. I think that’s what I meant, the zipper is a little stiff (maybe because you have to pull up and down and not just straight across)
I think it is in Epsom as well (prefer the monotone, although the Butler leather is awesome) so yes the form will stay- do you think they’re still offering the monotone format or just this unique style on display?
The zipper should glide smoothly so long as the 'teeth' are aligned and you're guiding the tab at the proper angle. For this reason, the 25 might be a challenge to open/close if it's being worn high cross-body (because you're more likely to pull on the tab unevenly) or if it's over-filled. Otherwise, no issues.
What do you all think of the Bolide (27) for a formal occasion? Would you consider it too large or would you wear yours? (ie wedding, opera/ballet, banquet dinner, etc.).
I personally would not wear a bolide for an event like a nighttime wedding or an event that calls for formal wear.
The zip should not catch at the bend or get stuck (or at least not in my experience with this bag)
I think of a bolide 27 as a casual day bag (JMO though as I do not carry much)

I didn’t find out I saw it quickly in passing, but I have seen the mono-tone Epsom bags before and this was a new one for me as well. Someone above mentioned Butler leather.
Do you mind sharing the width of the bolide 25 strap? I’m trying to discern whether my extenders would work with the strap so I can wear it crossbody.
