Ode to the bolide

I have been thinking about asking my sa for a bolide after admiring all of your beautiful bolides. I’m debating between mini and 25. I recently saw a YouTuber hey Chenny talk about her mini bolide in a video about her collection. Her bolide looked bent out of shape and kind of beaten. Is this normal for the bolide to look lumpy? Or perhaps this is a mini bolide issue or maybe it’s the leather? I like for my bags to mostly keep their structure. If this isn’t the right forum for this question admin please let me know. Thank you.

Sounds like someone stored it badly.

This is what a H artisan told me during a leather event several years ago. Epsom is stamped imperfect Boxcalf.

They may have done that to one or two batches that went very wrong, but Epsom is noticeably thinner and lighter that Box for same specs bags. Epsom's pressing is not a latter stage of Box calf production either (otherwise we would definitely have more Box calf leather available).

next year will be the Bolide's 100th anniversary, so if you can wait until then, maybe more interesting styles/color combos will come out.
also mini Bolides shouldn't look lumpy. maybe it was the way it was stuffed or stored

perhaps a combination of size and leather and stitching.
a rigide bolide in a smooth heritage leather should keep its shape. Similarly a mixed media bolide, like leather/toile; leather/denim/ and troika (leather with calf hair) stands upright without slouching.

a medium sized 31 relaxed bolide in a pebbled leather or smooth soft leather like swift might not.

it might also be possible that the bolide you mention was overstuffed?

Everytime I think about getting another bolide, I think "wait until next year!!" in the hopes of finding something really special, like box or barenia, or sunrise/sunset. Or who know what other unique pattern or skin they will come up with??

I saw the video and it seemed to me like she doesn't stuff it or give it any support when she storing it so it's kind of hunching forward. Storing your bags in the way that Hermes recommends and being a bit more gentle will go a long way. Another consideration is that even if your bag relaxes over time, when you have items in the bag and are holding it, it won't look as slouchy.

I’m looking to add a bolide 27 to my wishlist for next year, and would like to hear your thoughts on color ideas! I would like a pop of color this time (already have etoupe and gold bags). What’s your favorite color for a bolide? Thanks!

I'm definitely a bit biased, but... Rubis!

Be still my beating heart! Thanks so much for this wonderful eye candy @Sourisbrune; I can't for the life of me figure out why more people don't covet the bolide.. Perhaps because it doesn't scream "H"? I think it's a wonderful bag, and would be happy with many of these colors in a 35. (I think the last might be Rouge Garrance )
I am totally coveting the Bolide for a work bag. Can you tell me if a MacBook 13" fits in the 35?
